Q4: Not Enough Suction
-
Press the bag to expel excess air before vacuuming it. Too much air inside the bag may result in a poor vacuum.
-
When vacuum sealing unfrozen food, allow at least 2.5 inches of bag length for expansion while freezing.
Place unfrozen meat or fish on a paper towel and vacuum seal with the paper towel in the bag to absorb any extra moisture. -
Before storing foods such as tortillas, crepes or bread, use wax or parchment paper between them to stack the pieces.
This will make it easier to remove an individual piece, reseal the rest and immediately replace them in the freezer.
Q5: Air was removed from the bag but now air has re-entered
-
Check the seal of the bag. There may be a hole or wrinkle that is allowing air to re-enter the bag.
Carefully cut the bag open and re-seal it, or use an entirely new bag. -
Make sure there is no moisture or liquid from the food present within the bag. You may need to cut open the bag and re-seal it, or use an entirely new bag.
-
Make sure there were no food items with sharp edges that may have punctured the bag.
If you find a puncture hole seal the item in an entirely new bag. -
Make sure no liquids were drawn to the sealing strip area.
-
Moisture of foods with high liquid content will prevent the bag from sealing properly. Cut bag open and wipe top inside of bag and reseal.
-
Fermentation or the release of natural gases from inside the foods may have occurred.
When this happens, food may have begun to spoil and should be discarded. -
If the food you’re sealing has sharp edges (such as bones or shells) pack the edges with kitchen paper to avoid tearing the bag
-
When vacuum sealing liquid-based foods (such as soups or stew) freeze them first in a baking pan or tempered dish before bagging and vacuum sealing them.
-
Pre-freeze fruits and blanch vegetables before vacuum sealing for the best results.

- Make sure there is enough bag material (at least 2.5 inches (6.35 cm) to reach center of vacuum chamber to allow the bag to seal tightly around food contents.
- Check for food debris around seal area. If present, Take out the gasket, clean it and reinsert the Gasket into the Vacuum Channel

-
The sealing strip may have been too hot during the sealing process. Allow the unit to cool for 40 seconds between seals.

- Make sure you are using Geryon vacuum sealer bags with texture on one or both sides, or with folded sides
