mentice Acute Ischemic Stroke Intervention Instructions
Ischemic stroke is the 2nd leading cause of death and the predominant cause of long-term disability in the Western world. Until recently, the standard treatment for ischemic stroke was intravenous administration of r-tPA. Over the years, studies have shown that r-tPA followed by mechanical thrombectomy is superior in large vessel occlusions to only administering r-tPA, given the Mechanical Thrombectomy is performed by an expert. To expand MT’s reach and meet the increasing demand for experts trained to perform this procedure, many new interventional neuroradiologists must be educated.
Mentice Acute Ischemic Stroke Intervention training software offers hands-on training on image guided interventional treatment of acute ischemic stroke. Trainees can improve their skills in challenging scenarios by training on difficult accesses and dealing with complications away from patients and without the stress of being in an acute procedure. Several techniques are supported to achieve carotid access and remove the thrombus, leading to acquiring skills to safely and efficiently treat acute ischemic stroke.
