Product Information

The OSW-U Wall Switch Ultrasonic Occupancy Sensor (120/277V) is an energy- saving, motion sensing lighting control that replaces a conventional wall switch. It utilizes ultrasonic technology to detect room motion and is designed to provide maximum convenience with its Automatic On Mode. The sensor is also equipped with a Manual Off pushbutton that can be used in either mode. The OSW-U-0721-MV is compliant with California Title 20 regulations and is suitable for various room orientations, furniture placements, and switch locations.

The sensor features a self-contained design and does not require a wallplate, which is not included in the package. It has a dimensional height of 1.8 inches (45.7mm) and a mounting height of 4.15 inches (105.4mm).

The OSW-U-0721-MV has a maximum load/relay rating of 0-800W for incandescent bulbs at 120V, and 0-800W for fluorescent bulbs at 120V or 0-1200W for fluorescent bulbs at 277V. It operates at a voltage of 120/277 VAC and a frequency of 60 Hz. The available color options for the sensor are White (W), Ivory (V), and Almond (A). Please note that not all colors may be available in stock and some color options may have extended lead times.

The sensor is backed by a five-year warranty.

Product Usage Instructions

Installation

Turn off the power to the circuit where the wall switch will be installed.
Remove the existing wall switch.
Connect the wires from the circuit to the corresponding terminals on the OSW-U-0721-MV sensor, following the provided wiring diagrams for single-pole or 3-way installations.
Securely mount the sensor onto the wall using the provided mounting plate, ensuring it is positioned at the desired height.
Turn on the power to the circuit.

Operating Modes The OSW-U-0721-MV sensor has two operating modes: Automatic On Mode and Manual Off Mode.

Automatic On Mode: In this mode, the sensor will automatically turn on the lights when it detects motion in the room. To activate Automatic On Mode, ensure the override jumper is set to “A”.
Manual Off Mode: In this mode, the sensor will not automatically turn on the lights. To activate Manual Off Mode, ensure the override jumper is set to “M”.

Override Jumper The override jumper is used to switch between Automatic On Mode and Manual Off Mode. Set the jumper to “A” for Automatic On Mode and “M” for Manual Off Mode.

Field of View The OSW-U-0721-MV sensor has a wide field of view, allowing it to detect motion in a large area of the room.

Overview

The sensor produces a low-intensity, inaudible sound to detect occupancy in a room. Changes in the sensor’s acoustic wave caused by motion, such as walking into a room, reaching for a telephone or swiveling in a chair, will cause the lights to turn ON. The sensor does not respond to audible sound. In the Automatic On Mode, lights will turn ON automatically when a person enters the room. In Manual On Mode, lights are turned ON by pressing the touchplate at the top of the switch. When the room is vacated, lights turn OFF automatically after the programmed time delay. An air-gap switch ensures no leakage current to load for maximum product reliability
