Assemble & disassemble instructions
Congratulations on acquiring one of the most versatile modifiers available.
By following the instructions in this guide you will be able to start light
shaping in no time, with minimal effort!
Get started with your new Soft Zoom Reflector
The best way to assemble your Soft Zoom Reflector is by attaching it to your light stand. Make sure to use a stand that is intended for heavier accessories, that it is correctly mounted on the stand, and that you have tightened the screws properly.
The next step is to make sure that you are always holding on to the back end of the zoom rod with one hand to give you leverage and support when snapping the rods into place.
On the backside of the ring where the rods are attached, you can see white dots. Two single dots and two double dots. Start by unfolding the rods at the single dots followed by the rods at the double dots. This method will create even pressure and tension on the reflector.
When the four different rods are securely snapped into place, continue by opening the remaining rods in a circular pattern to create as even tension as possible.
When you are done, double-check that all rods are fixed by pressing your thumb on the release buttons. If you have done it correctly they should be firm with zero flex when you push them. If not, snap the rod without tension into place.
Now you’re all set for light shaping magic.
Disassembly
First of all, make sure to let the reflector cool down to room temperature
before starting the disassembly. To disassemble, lift the rods to release
tension while pressing the release button.
Follow the same pattern as when you assembled the reflector.
