Normal Operation, Installation, and Transport Conditions

  • Normal Operation and Installation Conditions

(1) Ambient air temperature: The ultimate operating temperature is -35℃~+70℃, the normal operating temperature is -5℃~+55℃, and the average within 24 hours does not exceed +35℃; when the operating ambient temperature is higher than 40℃, the reduction of the allowable ultimate temperature rise of the product must be considered. The number of contacts installed in the standard components is decreased by reducing the rated operating current, otherwise the product may be damaged, the product life may be shortened, the working reliability may be reduced, and the action range of the product may be affected; when below -5℃, it shall be considered that the grease used for insulation and lubrication may be frozen in the too low ambient temperature, resulting in action failure of product. Table 2 gives the correction coefficient for different rated operating current when the working ambient temperature exceeds +55℃ but the rated operating voltage is unchanged.

Table 2

(2) The altitude at the installation site does not exceed 2000m; the normal parameters are available if 2000m and below; if above 2000m, derating is required. Table 3 gives the correction coefficients for rated impulse withstand voltage and rated operating current under the conditions of the altitude >2000m and of the rated voltage unchanged.

Table 3

(3) The relative humidity of atmosphere air does not exceed 50% at the maximum ambient temperature +70℃; a high relative humidity is allowed at lower temperatures, such as 90% at +20℃. Special protective measures are taken for condensations occurred occasionally due to temperature changes;

(4) The installation position shall be vertical, and the inclination does not exceed ±5°in each direction;

(5) Installed in a place where there is no severe impact vibration or rain and snow erosion;

(6) Pollution level: Level 3;

(7) Installation category: Class III;

(8) Rated impulse withstand voltage Uimp: 8000V;

(9) Rated frequency: 50Hz

(10) Protection grade: The protection grade of the housing of main circuit of the contactor is IP00, and of the control circuit and auxiliary circuit is IP20;

(11) Suitable for 8h working system, intermittent cycle working system, uninterrupted working system, and short-time working system.

  • Normal Storage and Transport Conditions

(1) Temperature: -25℃~+55℃, up to +70℃ within a short time (24h);

(2) Relative humidity: ≤95%

(3) Please handle the product gently during the transport, do not upside it down, and prevent severe impact;

(4) The product shall not be eroded by rain or snow during the transportation and storage.

Install the product

  • All contactors are installed with screws. Check that the rated voltage and frequency of the coil are consistent with the control power supply before installation, and it is prohibited to operate any damaged or poorly assembled contactor.
  • The product installation requirements are illustrated in Fig. 3.

(1) Aux. contact

CJX2s-120~400 contactor has two sets of one pair of normally open and one pair of normally closed auxiliary contacts, and its model is FC4-11; its main parameters are listed in Table 6;

Table 6

The contactors can be equipped with independent auxiliary contact modules, and their model specifications and normally open and normally closed combinations are listed in Table 7; the installation of F4 is consistent with the installation method of air delay head, and the installation and disassembly method of FC4-11 is shown in Fig. 7 and Fig. 8.

Figure 7 and 8

Table 7

(2) Air delay head

The contactor can be equipped with a SK4 air delay head to form a delay contactor, and its delay range is listed in Table 8.

Table 8

The installation and disassembly of the air delay head are illustrated in Fig. 9 and Fig. 10.

When installation: ➀ Align the sliding chute with the sliding rail of the contactor;

➁ Push downwards until the buckle is locked automatically;

When disassembly: ➀ Lift the buckle upwards;

➁ Push along with the sliding chute upwards for removal.

Figure 9 and 10

(3) The installation method of the FR4 mechanical interlock is illustrated in Fig. 11:

➀ Install FR1

➁ Install the other contactor as shown in figure

➂ and ➃ Tighten the screws and nuts as well as connecting plate to fix two contactors, as shown in figure.

(5) Electromagnetic starter

The contactor can be combined with JRS1Dsp series thermal overload relay installation to form an electromagnetic starter

Test and Operation

  • Check whether the technical parameters of the product meet the use requirements;
  • Turn on the control circuit, conduct the non-load operation test, and then connect the load if there is no abnormality;
  • Do not allow the foreign objects fall into the product;
  • It is recommended to select SCPD according to type 1 coordinated protection, and the mode of its fuse is listed in Table 8.

Table 8 Model of matched fuse

  • Wiring capacity and tightening torque see Table 9.

Table 9

Maintenance and Service

  • The terminal block of the contactor shall be tightened regularly, and the deposited dust is removed, otherwise there will be a risk of fire and short circuit;
  • The small metal particles sprayed around the contactor or on the arc shield should be removed, and the contactor shall stop when the contact surface is burnt to expose the base material.

Troubleshooting and Solution

The common troubleshooting and solution see Table 10.
