How to Use your Crepe-Maker

Betore the First Use

  1. Careruly unpack the crepe maker and remove all packaging materials
  2. Wipe the cooking plate with a damp cloth, and then dry thoroughly.
  3. Plug the appliance into the wall socket.
  4. On initial use, turn the temperature knob at the highest level and keep the appliance working tor 5 minutes.
  5. Then you can put tood on the plate and adjust the temperature grade accordingly. It is normal to see some smoke and have a smell coming out during initial use.

How to Operate

  1. Plug the unit into the outlet. The power indicator light will only illuminate once the temperature dial is turned trom the off poSition.
  2. Preheat the cooking plate on low and then grease the cooking plate with a small amount of butter.
  3. Pour the crêpe batter over the cooking plate.
  4. Quickly spread the batter in circular movements using the wooden spreader until the desired diameter and thickness of the crêpe is achieved.
  5. Turn the unit to a higher temperature and allow the crêpe to cook until the top surtace is no longer runny and the crêpe can be moved slightly on the cooking plate.
  6. Insert the wooden turner under the crepe and turn the crepe over to cook the other side.
  7. Cook the crêpe until just golden.
  8. Remove the crepe from the cooking plate using the wooden turner.

NOTES

It your crepe was too dark, cook your next crepe for a shorter amount of time or at a lower temperature. It takes practice to become proicient at spreading the batter. Batter will be easier to spread at a lower temperature setting It is suggested to turn the temperature back to low between cooking crëpes. At the end ot cooking, turn the switch to the oft position and the light will turn oft. Remove the plug trom the socket and let the appliance cool down.

Caution

Do not leave the appliance switched on when no tood is being cooked tor long duration. Use wooden spatula to move the tood, but do not leave the wooden tools or any other tools on the plate tora long time. Never use metal tools or sharp objects to litt/ remove tood or clean the plate, this can damage the non-stick coating and the surtace of the appliance.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Always make sure the appliance is unplugged and cool betore attempting to clean. The non-stick cooking plate can be cleaned by wiping the surtace with a damp, sott cloth. When baked-on toods cannot be removed by this method, brush with a little oil. Allow to stand tor 5 minutes, wipe with a damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or the appliance in water or any other liquid. Appliance is not dishwasher sate. Dry the appliance thoroughly betore storing. Do not store anything on top of the appliance.

BASIC CREPE BATTER

Makes approximately 10 crêpes

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups all-purpose fiour
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 3 tablespoons of butter (melted)

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large bowl or blender, add the liquid ingredients and blend.
  2. Add the dry ingredients and blend until smooth.
  3. Cover the mixture and let it stand tor at least 1 hour in the retrigerator.
  4. Heat the crêpe maker at low temperature and grease the cooking surtace with butter (Just betore the hrst crêpe.)
  5. Pour approximately one ladle tull of crēpe batter on the center of the cooking surtace. Using the spreader, spread with quick circular movements to create a thin, even layer of batter across the cooking surtace. The crêpe should be neither too thick nor too thin.
  6. Increase the temperature and cook the crêpe until the batter becomes hrm and it begins to turn golden brown.
  7. Using the wooden turner, fiip the crêpe over to cook the other side until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the pan and continue with the remaining crepes.
  9. After you make all the crêpes you can hall them with what you desire.

BUCKWHEAT CREPES

Also reterred to as galettes in Europe, buckwheat crêpes have gained popularity because they are a tasty, gluten-tree alternative to a traditional erepe. A common galette hiling in France is cheese and ham with a sunny side- up egg on top, but with all the savory hlling combinations available, we encourage you to experiment.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup (4 % ounces) Buckwheat Flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (8 ounces) 1%, 2%, or whole milk
  • 4 to 2 cup (2 to 4 ounces) water
  • 1 tablespoon melted unsalted butter

DIRECTIONS

Follow directions tor basic crēpes using these ingredients.

I use a wooden spatula. You can certainly use a synthetic one. I would not use a metal one as it will scratch the cooking surface.

No it does not come off. It is very easy to clean with a damp cloth.

The top and bottom is black and the body is white, it is as same as the photo shown.

We melted mozzarella cheese before and it was fine.
