-
Put soapy water on the gas connection between the fuel canister and the valve. The formation of bubbles indicates a gas leakage.
WARNING Do not check for leaks using a flame.
WARNING If a leak is detected, do not attempt ignition. Remove the fuel canister immediately and contact Customer Service. -
If no leak is found, detach the fuel canister. The leak check is complete.
ASSEMBLY
WARNING
- Perform Leak Checks outside, in a well-ventilated area.
- Operate at least 1m/3.3ft away from combustible materials and ignition sources.
- Before each use: Keep stove area clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors and liquids.
- Do not obstruct the flow of combustion and ventilation air to the stove.
- Do not use a windscreen or outback oven; this can overheat the fuel canister, resulting in an explosion.
- Do not use an appliance that is leaking, damaged, or which does not operate properly.
- Always change gas canisters in a well-ventilated location away from any sources of ignition, such as naked flames, pilots, electric heaters/equipment, and away from other people.
-
Remove packed contents from the pot (Fig 1).
-
Perform LEAK CHECK PROCEDURE.
-
Unfold the bail (2.1) from the valve body (2.2). Confirm wire form bail ends are securely attached.
-
Close the control valve (8.1) (turn clockwise).
-
Check for debris in the valve connection (1.1), and that the O-Ring is in place and in good condition before connecting to the stove.
WARNING Do not use the appliance if it has damaged or worn seals, this may result in gas leakage.
WARNING In temperatures below freezing, O-rings may not seal fully, resulting in a fuel leak. -
To check that the gas canister is not empty, liquid fuel may be heard and/or felt inside when the canister is shaken.
-
Connect the fuel canister (3.1) to valve (3.2) by threading in the orientation shown in Fig 4.
WARNING Hand tighten only, do not over-tighten or cross-thread. May damage seals resulting in fuel leaks. -

WARNING Never use alternate cookware without the Jetboil Pot Support. Failure to use the Pot Support will result in a fire that may cause death or serious injury.
WARNING Never use cookware larger than 2L capacity or 9in. [23cm] diameter when using a Pot Support.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
- Keep the burner at arm’s length, away from the face, during ignition. Flame can flare during ignition.
- Do not attempt to light with the included pot or any other cookware on the burner. Gas build-up can occur, resulting in increased flame eruption.
- Never expose the stove to flammable vapors or liquids while lighting the burner. It can cause an explosion or fire.
- Do not heat the empty pot. The product will melt and potentially catch fire.
- Do not move, lift, or tilt the stove with a lit burner. Product damage or injury can occur due to flaring.
- Do not fill the pot more than half full. This may cause boil-over, resulting in injury.
- If attempting to heat anything other than water, use care and stir frequently to avoid boilover or scorching, which may result in product damage or injury.
- Always check that the burner is extinguished before disconnecting the fuel canister.
- Do not use it for boiling oil or deep frying. Product damage or injury can occur due to overheating.
Preparation
- Remove the bottom cover (7.1) from the bottom of the Jetboil pot (7.1).
- Remove the Pack Bag (if included).
- Remove the Pot Support Warning Tag.
- Add contents to the pot, and cover it with a lid, but do not put the pot on the stove yet. Now you are ready to light the burner.
- Test the igniter by depressing the igniter button (8.2) until the click is heard. If it does not spark, refer to the Maintenance and Troubleshooting sections.
NOTICE Performance may be suboptimal if used in extreme conditions (cold,
hot, wind, altitude).
WARNING Do not use the stove to warm the fuel canister. Can result in an
explosion.
Lighting the Burner
CAUTION Ensure the burner base is free of any pot prior to lighting. Gas build-up can occur, resulting in increased flame eruption.
- Open the control valve (8.1) counterclockwise until fully opened and gas flow can be heard.
- To light, depress the Igniter Button (8.2) until a click is heard. Repeat as necessary until ignition (Fig 9). 3. If ignition does not occur within 5 seconds, close control valves and wait 5 minutes before repeating the procedure.
Usage
- If necessary, rotate the control valve (8.1) clockwise to decrease the flame setting.
- Once the burner is lit, carefully place the pot with its contents on the burner base (Fig 10); turn as shown in Fig 11 to lock into place.
CAUTION Use care when removing the lid. Steam and/or contents may be hot and can cause injury.
INSTRUCTIONS
After Use
-
Turn off the control valve (8.1) (tighten clockwise) to extinguish the flame.
-
Remove pot from burner base – hold the pot by cozy (10.1), and base by a shroud (10.2).
WARNING Exposed metal parts will be hot and may cause injury if touched. -
Always disconnect the fuel canister after use. Unscrew the fuel canister from the burner base (Fig 4), and replace the plastic fuel cap.
WARNING Always check that the burner is extinguished before disconnecting the fuel canister. Vapors can ignite and cause serious injury.
Packing
- Allow the stove to fully cool before packing.
- Place bottom cover (7.1) on pot (7.2).
- Remove the stabilizer from the canister and fold it for storage (1.2).
- Fold Valve bail under valve body (1.3).
- If using the pot support: Remove the pot support from the burner base (Fig 12), and fold legs (1.4).
- Refer to Fig 1 for packing contents into a pot.
Storage After Use
- Always disconnect the fuel canister before storing the stove.
- Ensure stove and pot are clean and dry before storing.
- Store the stove in a cool, dry location, indoors.
Maintenance
- Flame Check (Every use): The height of the flame should increase from low to high with counter-clockwise rotation of the control valve. The flame should be blue with no yellow tipping at full output. The flame should not flashback into the burner or lift off of the burner top. If flame abnormalities are found, see your dealer or contact Jetboil for service.
- Cleaning Pot (before storage, or as needed): Allow pot to cool before cleaning. Do not use a dishwasher or abrasive compounds (sand, salt, etc.) to clean. Only wash by hand with soapy water.
Troubleshooting
- Flame does not extinguish: Tighten the valve as much as possible, blow out the flame, and immediately detach the fuel source. See your dealer or contact Jetboil for service.
- Igniter fails to spark: If the igniter will not spark, check the positioning of the electrode in relation to the burner. Approximately 1/8” (3mm) length of igniter wire should protrude from the igniter ceramic. Wire should point toward the center of the burner with a 1/8” (3mm) gap between the end of the wire and the top surface of the burner. If not positioned as described, re-position the electrode accordingly. Bend the wire toward the center of the burner head and position it as described above. If the stove is wet, the igniter may fail to spark. If the igniter fails to spark, use matches or a lighter, following instructions detailed in OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS – Lighting the Burners. See your dealer or contact Jetboil for service if the igniter fails to spark for any other reason.
- If an issue cannot be corrected using these instructions, see Limited Warranty on the back page.
