Quick Start Guide

General Safety Rules

• Please read this Guide carefully before you start using this device.
• Use only the SC511 components and accessories supplied by the manufacturer.
• Do not attempt to disassemble the SC511, as it does not contain parts that can be repaired by the user. Any tampering will void the warranty.
• At the end of this device’s product life, dispose of properly according to local laws.
• Do not submerge the SC511 in any type of liquid.

After unpacking, please inspect package contents. If any item is damaged or missing, please contact your customer support representative immediately.

Side View

1. Scan Key
   Each press indicates a scan. If it is set to the “Auto Sensing” mode, there is no need to press the button. Aim the scanning light at the center of the barcode, and the scan will be started automatically.

2. Front Scanning window Aim at the barcode for scanning from the front window. Do not aim at the eye and press the scan button.

3. Indicator Light
   A red light will light up when the power supply is connected.
   A blue light will light up when decoding successfully.
   If a barcode is decoded but not transmitted to the computer, please check again whether the interface setting, wire installation, or receiving software is correct.

4. Release Latch
   Insert a paper clip into this hole until you hear a “click.” The cable can be removed from the cable connection hole and the new cable can be inserted according to original shape of the hole. When you hear a “click,” it means that the cable has been replaced.

5. Cable Connection Hole
   The connection between the body and the cable. Please note that if you change to the cable for a different communication interface, please change the interface settings at the same time.

Reading Tips

1. Press the scan key and aim at the barcode with the red LED line. It can read and decode in any direction.
2. If the barcode is small, make the scanner close to the barcode. If the barcode is large, the scanner should be away from the barcode, so that it is easier to read the barcode correctly.
3. If the barcode is highly reflective (owing to the surface coating, etc.), you may need to tilt the scanner at an angle to scan the barcode successfully

Precautions for Use

1. If the interface is “USB COM” (factory default setting is “USB HID”), please check whether the device manager on control panel has a device with COM and LPT.
2. If there is a barcode that cannot be scanned, please first confirm whether the scanner is enabled to read the barcode of the specific type. If the barcode cannot be read even when the scanner is enabled to read the barcode of the specific type, please provide the original barcode to the customer support representative in the form of photocopy or scanned image for the customer support representative to judge.
3. Rated Voltage:5V, Operating Frequency (Max.): 1G MHz

Warranty and Service Term

Unless otherwise agreed in a contract, all the warranty period of the products lasts for two years since the date of purchase while that of the accessories (such as battery, dongle, etc.) lasts for six months since the date of purchase. For any faults happened to the products under normal use and ascribed to the inherent problems of the products through identification within the warranty period, we will provide free maintenance services. If the products within warranty period are judged damaged by improper artificial use by our maintenance representatives, we will provide maintenance quotation and repair the product after the customer agrees on our quotation. The damage of appearance, enclosure and decorative parts and components are beyond the scope of warranty, for which, we do not provide free maintenance services
