Product Information
The HASF1515/HASF1516 is a 16-inch (40cm) Oscillating Stand Fan designed for household use. It features a fan head, base, and pole assembly for easy setup and use. The fan has a front grill and blade cap that can be removed for cleaning. The fan blade, front and rear grills, as well as the fan base, pole, and head, can be cleaned using a soft, moist cloth. It is important to avoid exposing the motor or other electrical components to water. The fan can also be used during the winter season to circulate warm air throughout the home. The product comes with a 3-year limited warranty.
Product Usage Instructions
- Before using the fan, read all the instructions in the user manual.
- Ensure that the fan is used only for purposes described in the instruction manual.
- To clean the fan blade, follow these steps:
- Remove the front grill and blade cap to access the fan blade.
- Clean the fan blade, and front and rear grills using a soft, moist cloth.
- Replace the blade, tighten the blade cap, and securely fasten the front grill.
- To clean the fan head, base, and pole:
- Use a soft, moist cloth with or without a mild soap solution.
- Carefully clean the fan base, pole, and head.
- Exercise caution around the motor housing area and avoid exposing the motor or other electrical components to water.
- When storing the fan, protect the fan head from dust.
- Do not use the fan outdoors.
- To disconnect the fan, grip the plug and pull it from the wall outlet.
- Always use the fan on a dry, level surface.
- Ensure that the fan is fully assembled with all parts properly in place before operating.
- Do not use the fan in a window.
- Avoid running the cord under carpeting or covering it with throw rugs or similar coverings. Route the cord away from traffic areas to prevent tripping.
- Do not use attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer as they may cause hazards.
- Avoid letting the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, come in contact with hot surfaces, or be exposed to high-traffic areas.

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be taken including the following:
- Read all instructions before using this appliance.
- Use fan only for purposes described in the instruction manual.
- To protect against electrical shock do not immerse the unit, plug or cord in water or spray with liquids, and plug the appliance directly into a 120V AC electrical outlet.

- Do not run a cord under the carpeting. Do not cover the cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not route the cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange the cord away from the traffic area so that it will not be tripped over.
- The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause hazards.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table, counter or come in contact with hot surfaces or leave exposed to high-traffic areas.
- Do not use outdoors.

- This product employs overload protection (fuse). A blown fuse indicates an overload or short-circuit situation. If the fuse blows, unplug the product from the outlet. Replace the fuse as per the user servicing instructions (follow product marking for proper fuse rating) and check the product. If the replacement fuse blows, a short circuit may be present and the product should be discarded or returned to an authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.

THIS APPLIANCE HAS A POLARIZED PLUG (one blade is wider than the other). To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the
plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the
proper outlet.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE : MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE ALL CONTENTS FROM THE PACKAGE. PLEASE CHECK
PACKAGING MATERIALS FOR PARTS THAT COULD BE REQUIRED TO ASSEMBLE YOUR FAN.
Pole Assembly
You will need the base, extension pole, and pole screw (See Fig. 1).
- Take the extension pole, with the pole screw towards the bottom, and insert into base.
- Tighten into place using the pole screw.
Fan Head Assembly
You are now ready to assemble the fan head (See Fig. 1).

Position the rear grill over the motor shaft, making certain the 2 notches at the top and bottom of the rear grill fit over the 2 prongs on the motor housing.
Please make sure the rear grill fits securely against the motor housing. -
Secure the rear grill in its place using the rear grill mounting nut. Turn this nut clockwise and tighten firmly.

Slide the fan blade, with the hollowed interior of the blade facing towards the rear grill firmly onto the motor shaft. Make sure the motor shaft pin lines up with the recessed groove in the back of the fan blade. Also, be sure the shaft protrudes from the front of the blade.

Secure fan blade onto the motor shaft by turning the blade cap counter-clockwise and tighten firmly.

Prepare the front grill by simply snapping the logo plate into place.

Center the front grill by aligning the Holmes logo so that it is horizontal and parallel to the floor, and then place onto the rear grill. Lastly, snap the front and rear grills completely together, and tighten the grill screw at the bottom of the rear grill (See Fig. 1).
Final Assembly
Place fan post onto the extension pole, and securely tighten the fan post
screw.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- Set fan base on a dry, level surface.
- Plug cord into any standard 120 volt AC outlet. Please make sure the Speed Control Knob is in the OFF (o) position. The Speed Control Knob is located on the top of the Fan Motor Housing.
- The speed is adjusted by turning the control knob to the desired setting, OFF – (o) , HIGH – (III), MEDIUM – (II), LOW – (I).
- The Oscillation control knob ( ) is located on the top of the Fan Motor Housing. To start Oscillation, push Oscillation Knob down. To stop Oscillation, pull Oscillation Knob all the way up.
SPECIAL NOTE: This fan can be used in a “straight up position” (TotalFlexTM) as a whole room air circulator (See the Adjustment Instructions).
ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Tilt Adjustment
Follow these instructions to tilt the Fan Head for upward-angled air movement
or whole-room air circulation. You may use the oscillation feature in this
position.
- To change the tilting angle of the fan head, simply loosen the Tilt Adjustment Knob (See Fig. 2).
- Move the fan head to the desired angle, and firmly tighten the knob to lock in place.
- This fan can be tilted to a straight-up position, offering whole-room air circulation. When the fan head is tilted back, be sure to securely tighten in place.
Floor Fan Conversion/Height Adjustment
Follow these instructions to convert the fan into a floor fan.
- Loosen the fan post screw and remove fan head (See Fig. 1).
- Remove the extender pole by unscrewing the pole screw at the base.
- Re-attach the fan head to the base and secure with the fan post screw
CLEANING/MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Follow these instructions to correctly and safely care for your fan. Please remember:
REPLACEABLE FUSE
If your (5 Amp, 125 Volt) replaceable fuse blows, please order a new fuse at
1-800-546-5637. Follow the below
instructions to replace the fuse on the plug.
User Servicing Instructions

Unplug your fan. Grasp the plug and remove it from the receptacle or other outlet device. Do not unplug by pulling on the cord.

Open the fuse cover, located on the top of the plug, by using your thumb or a flathead screwdriver to slide the cover down towards the prongs.
Note : Ensure that the fuse cover is completely open before attempting to remove the fuse. -
Remove the fuse carefully by using a small screwdriver to pry the fuse out of the compartment by the metal ends of the fuse (see Fig. 3).

Place the plug on a solid, flat surface. Insert a new 5 Amp, 125 Volt fuse into the fuse compartment and use a small screwdriver to secure the metal ends of the fuse into the compartment.
Caution : Risk of fire. Replace fuse only with 5 Amp, 125 Volt fuse. -
The slide fuse cover closed completely. If the fuse cover is difficult to close, make sure the fuse is secured in place completely by pressing down on the metal ends of the fuse.

Risk of fire. Do not replace the attachment plug. Contains a safety device (fuse) that should not be removed. Discard the product if the attachment plug is damaged
CLEANING/STORAGE
FAN CLEANING
- Always unplug the fan before cleaning.
- Do not allow water to drip on or enter into fan housing.
- Be sure to use a soft cloth moistened with or without a mild soap solution.
- Do not use any of the following as a cleaner: gasoline, thinner, or benzene.
Fan Blade Cleaning
(See instructions for fan head assembly, Fig. 1).
- To access the fan blade, remove the front grill and blade cap.
- Clean the fan blade, and front and rear grills with a soft moist cloth.
- Replace the blade, tighten the blade cap, and securely fasten the front grill.
Fan Head, Base, and Pole Cleaning
Using a soft, moist cloth with or without a mild soap solution carefully clean the fan base, pole, and head.
Please use caution around the motor housing area. Do not allow the motor or other electrical components to be exposed to water.
FAN STORAGE
Your fan can be stored in the off season either partially disassembled or assembled. It is important to keep it in a safe dry location.
- If stored disassembled, we recommend using the original (or appropriately sized) box.
- If stored assembled or partialy assembled, remember to protect the fan head from dust.
NOTE : This fan can also be used during the cold winter season to circulate warm air throughout your home.

WARRANTY INFORMATION
3 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Sunbeam Products, Inc. doing business as Jarden Consumer Solutions or if in
Canada, Sunbeam Corporation (Canada) Limited doing business as Jarden Consumer
Solutions (collectively “JCS”) warrants that for three years from the date of
purchase, this product will be free from defects in material and workmanship.
JCS, at its option, will repair or replace this product or any component of
the product found to be defective during the warranty period. Replacement will
be made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the product is
no longer available, a replacement may be made with a similar product of equal
or greater value. This is your exclusive warranty. Do NOT attempt to repair or
adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this product. Doing so will
void this warranty.
This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of the
initial retail purchase and is not transferable.
Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain
warranty performance. JCS dealers, service centers, or retail stores selling
JCS products do not have the right to alter, modify or any way change the
terms and conditions of this warranty.
This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any
of the following: negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper
voltage or current, use contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly,
repair or alteration by anyone other than JCS or an authorized JCS service
center. Further, the warranty does not cover Acts of God, such as fire, flood,
hurricanes and tornadoes.
What are the limits on JCS’s Liability?
JCS shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by
the breach of any express, implied or statutory warranty or condition.
Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or
condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in
duration to the duration of the above warranty. JCS disclaims all other
warranties, conditions or representations, express, implied, statutory or
otherwise. JCS shall not be liable for any damages of any kind resulting from
the purchase, use or misuse of, or inability to use the product including
incidental, special, consequential or similar damages or loss of profits, or
for any breach of contract, fundamental or otherwise, or for any claim brought
against the purchaser by any other party. Some provinces, states or
jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so
the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other
rights that vary from province to province, state to state or jurisdiction to
jurisdiction.
