TOOLS REQUIRED
- Panel removal tool
- Phillips screwdriver
CAUTION
Metra recommends disconnecting the negative battery terminal before
beginning any installation. All accessories, switches, and especially air bag
indicator lights must be plugged in before reconnecting the battery or cycling
the ignition.

Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket radio.

Honda Element 2003-2010
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit.
- Unsnap and remove the shift lever trim panel. For manual transmission models, untwist the shift knob. (Figure A)
- Unsnap and remove the center dash panel. (Figure B)
- Remove (4) Phillips screws and remove the radio.
Tip: As an option, the center panel (the smaller piece around the radio) is all that needs to be removed. Note, it is prone to damage–full panel removal is recommended. (Figure C)

Double DIN head radio provision

Attach the Double DIN brackets to the Double DIN trim plate. (Figure A)

Slide the Double DIN head unit into the bracket/radio housing assembly and secure the Double DIN head unit to the assembly using the screws supplied with the radio. (Figure B)

Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra or AXXESS. Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation.
Note: Models equipped with factory DDIN radio will require a supplied O.E. Replacement panel. (Figure C) -
Reassemble the dash in reverse order of disassembly.
