Range of application **
**
This submersible pump is usually installed in basements. There, it grants protection from flooding. Additionally, the pump can be used, where water needs to be transported from one spot to another, e.g., at home, in agriculture, in gardening, for sanitarywork and so forth.
Resistance
- The maximum temperature of the pumped liquid should not exceed +35 ℃ in continuous operation.
- he pump must not be used to pump flammable, gassing, or explosive liquids.
- The pump must not be used to pump other liquids, especially motor fuels, cleaning agent, or other chemical products.
Installation
The pump is installed the following way: in a fixed position either with fixed
or flexible tubing.
Attention!
- hen installing the pump, make sure not to freely suspend it with its pressure line or power cable. The submersible motor pump needs to be hung up by the appropriate handle or placed on the floor of the shaft.
- To ensure the impeccable functioning of the pump, the shaft floor needs to be kept free of mud and dirt of any kind.
- If the water level is too low, the mud on the shaft floor might quickly dry and hinder the pump from starting. It is therefore necessary to regularly check the pump (by performing tests before operation).
- The float switch is adjusted to allow the pump to start immediately.
Note: The pump shaft should have a minimum size of 40×40×50 cm, so that the floater can move freely.
Mains connection
The pond pump that you have purchased is already equipped with a protection
plug. The pump is meant to be connected to a 220/230 V~50 Hz safety socket.
Make sure that the socket is sufficiently protected (min. 6 A) and fully
functional. Plug in the plug, the pump is operational.
Note: If the cable or the plug is damaged due to external influences, the
cable must not be repaired. It must be replaced with a new one. This work can
only be carried out by an electrician.
Operation settings
After carefully reading all information and instructions contained within
this operation manual, the pump can be operated by abiding the following
steps:
- Check if the pump is resting on the bottom of the shaft.
- Check if the pressure line is properly attached.
- Check if the electric source has 230 V~50 Hz.
- Check if the socket is in a good condition.
- Make sure that the electrical connections and circuits are sufficiently protected from moisture and water.
- Do not allow the pump to run dry.
Maintenance guidelines
This submersible pump is a certified quality product that is subject to a strict final inspection. We recommend a regular inspection and maintenance to ensure a longer lifespan of the device and an interruptionfree operation.
Important instructions!
- Properly disconnect the pump from its power supply by removing its plug from the socket before performing any kind of maintenance work.
- In case of the pump being transported or moved around a lot, it is advised to clean it with clear water after every use.
- In case of the pump remaining stationary for a longer time, the function of its lock switch should be checked every 3 months.
- Fibrous material that might have accumulated within the housing of the pump should be removed with water.
- Every 3 months, the shaft bottom should be freed from mud.
- Remove the residues on the float switch with clear water.
Cleaning the impeller
If there are excessive residues collected in the pump casing, the bottom part of the pump needs to be demounted the following:
-
Remove the suction cage from the housing of the pump.
-
Clean the impeller with clear water.
Important! The pump must not be placed or supportes on the impeller. -
Follow the previous steps in a reverse order to reassemble the pump.
Setting the switch-point
Fix the cable of the float switch to the cable clip found on the casing of the pump to set the desired switch-on and switch-off height.
- The float switch is installed so that the switch-on and switch-off point can be reached without any problem. To check this, place the pump into a container filled with water, carefully lift the float switch by hand and lower it again. By doing so, see if the pump switches itself on and off.
- To make sure that the pump switches itself on and off properly, the length of the cable comprised between the float switch and fixing clip must be of a minimum of 10 cm.
- When setting the float switch, make sure that the water has a minimum level of 15 mm to prevent the pump from running dry.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
Pump does not start | No power supply | Check power supply. |
Float switch does not switch | Place float switch in a higher po- sition. | |
No flow | Inlet filter clogged | Clean inlet filter with water stream. |
Pressure hose kinked | Adjust hose. | |
Pump does not switch off | Float switch cannot sink | Place pump properly on the |
shaft floor.
Insufficient flow| Inlet filter clogged| Clean inlet filter.
Reduced pumping performance due to dirty water or water containing abrasive
material| Clean pump and replace worn parts.
The pump switches itself off after short running period| Thermal switch stops
pump due to waste water.| Pull power plug. Clean pump and shaft.
Water too hot, thermal switch stops pump| Ensure that the maximal water
temperature does not exceed 35 ℃.
