Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Usage of Medical Protective Gloves?
We recommend the use of nitrile gloves instead of latex gloves in the
operation of our products. This reduces the risk of allergies and avoids
yellowing of the product by abrasion of the latex.
Detachable USB cable?
You may attach a USB cable with a USB-Type-C connector to the keyboard by
unlocking the sealing cap of the USB-Type-C port as opposed to the battery
compartment and inserting the connector into the USB-C socket. The wireless
interface will be disabled as soon as the keyboard is connected to the PC. The
Duo version has the cable included.
Energy saving mode?
The status LEDs show the status of the Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock as
soon as those functions are enabled. In order to save power, the status LEDs
will turn off 15 seconds after the last kev actuation.
How to determine the battery status?
The keyboard indicates low battery status by turning the LED “Clean” on for 5
seconds upon any actuation of keys. Please replace the batteries as soon as
possible. The keyboard will be turned off as soon as the low battery status
reaches the related threshold. The turn-off point will be visualized with a
blinking light using the first three LEDs.
How to activate/deactivate CleanFunction?
The key combination “Fn” + “Shift (Clean on/off)” activates and deactivates
the Clean Function. When the status LED “Clean” is flashing, it indicates that
CleanFunction is activated. While activated, all keys are disabled, so you can
safely wipe, clean, and disinfect the keyboard. The mode ends automatically
after 60 seconds or by operating the key combination again.
How to investigate a wireless connection problem?
- Check whether Clean Function is active and deactivate, if required.
- Check whether the USB RF receiver is listed in the device manager of your Operating System (VID&PID=0x046A&0xC132).
- Follow the pairing instructions (see below).
- In case all previous steps do not resolve the problem, please consult with customer service.
How to pair a new USB-Wireless-Dongle with the device?
Note: This procedure is only required if you received a replacement USB-
Wireless-Dongle. This is necessary if the original receiver was lost or
damaged. New pairing may also resolve a wireless connection problem. Make sure
any other USB-Wireless-Dongle(s) belonging to Active key wireless products in
the near neighborhood are removed from the USB ports. Do only connect the USB-
Wireless-Dongle that shall get paired.
- Initiate the pairing between USB-Wireless-Dongle and keyboard by depressing the key combination “Fn” + “Esc”.
- The Scroll Lock status LED will flash in fast frequency for approx. 5 seconds until the pairing process is completed.
- Test the basic functionality of the keyboard. In case the pairing process fails, double-check Step 1 and repeat.
- In case the pairing process does not lead to success, please consult with Customer Service.
