The Laboratory Filtration / Filtration System is a vacuum filtration system designed for efficient filtration of a large number of samples. It includes the Alligator 200 liquid pump, MultiVac 310 / 610 – MS aluminum manifold, MF 3 magnetic filter holder, and silicone tube. The system is lightweight, autoclavable, and cost-effective.
The Alligator 200 liquid pump bypasses the filtrate directly to waste without the need for additional waste bottles, saving time and bench space. The magnetic filter holder allows for one-handed operation and prevents the membrane from being twisted or torn. Product Usage Instructions
To use the Laboratory Filtration / Filtration System, follow these steps:
- Assemble the MultiVac 310 / 610 – MS aluminum manifold by connecting it to the Alligator 200 liquid pump using the provided silicone tube.
- Ensure that the MultiVac 310 / 610 – MS aluminum manifold is securely connected to the Alligator 200 liquid pump.
- Prepare your samples and place them in suitable containers for filtration.
- Attach the MF 3 magnetic filter holder to the MultiVac 310 / 610 – MS aluminum manifold. The filter holder can accommodate up to 3 or 6 filter membranes depending on the model.
- Connect the silicone tube from the filter holder to the container with the sample to be filtered.
- Turn on the Alligator 200 liquid pump and adjust the vacuum level as needed using the provided controls.
- Allow the filtration process to complete, ensuring that the filtrate is bypassed directly to waste.
- After filtration, turn off the Alligator 200 liquid pump and disconnect the silicone tube from the filter holder and sample container.
- Clean and sterilize the aluminum manifold, magnetic filter holder, and silicone tube as required before the next use.
