DESCALE YOUR APPLIANCE
If the appliance switches off before the water boils, it means des-caling is
required. Descale your kettle periodically, as minerals dis-solved in the tap
water can form limescale on the bottom of the kettle, which reduces the water
heating efficiency. You can use a commercially available descaler and follow
the instructions on its packaging. You can also use white vinegar and follow
the instruc-tions below.
- Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and then add water until it completely covers the limescale. Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.
- Then pour the mixture out of the kettle, fill the kettle with clean water to the maximum level, bring it to a boil and then pour out the water. Repeat several times until the smell of vinegar disappears. Any limescale residue inside the spout can be removed by wiping with a damp cloth.
