Ecolux Neo Steam Cleaner

SAFETY INSTRUCTION

Congratulations on the purchase of Ecolux Neo, please read these safety instructions carefully before operating the machine and keep it for further reference.

  • This product is meant for domestic use only.
    Professional or incorrect use or failure to comply with the manual, exonerates Lux from any responsibility or guarantee on the product.

  • The Ecolux Neo is built in accordance with the safety type IPX 4. Thus it is splash resistant.

  • The unit must always be standing horizontally on the wheels. Never place the unit on the cable reel.

  • This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.

  • The appliance shall not be left unattended while it is connected to the supply mains.

  • Compare the electric data on the rating plate with the mains voltage, frequency and max.
    Ampere, these figures have to comply.

  • The mains have to be protected by a 16A or 10A fuse and with an earth leakage circuit breaker (FI circuit). The mains needs to be earthed.

  • The hose and cord contain electrical components and should be checked regularly.

  • Do not use the device if the cord or the unit appears to be damaged.

  • In case of damage switch off and unplug the unit and contact a Lux Service Center.

  • The appliance is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking.

  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid hazard.

  • Any repair must be carried out solely by authorized Lux technicians. Use only Lux ORIGINAL spare parts. Appliances repaired by unauthorized technicians can represent a danger to the users and render the warranty void.

  • Do not try to modify the unit yourself.

  • Do not pull the cord to disconnect the plug.

  • Do not pull the unit so far away from the socket that the cable becomes too stretched.

  • Do not immerse the unit in water.

  • Never point the steam jet on persons or animals.

  • The steam must not be directed towards equipment containing electrical components, such as the interior of ovens.

  • Never aim the steam jet directly at non heat- resistant materials.

  • Never aim steam jet directly at silk, fur, leather or velvet. Before the use on sensitive materials, we recommend that you test it on a hidden area of the surface you intend to clean.

  • Steam can loosen wax, furniture polish, plastic coatings or paint and edge band from edges. Do not direct the steam at glued laminated edges as the edge band may loosen. Do not use the appliance for cleaning unsealed wood or parquet floors. Do no use the appliance for cleaning painted or plastic coated surfaces such as kitchen or living room furniture, doors or parquet. To clean these surfaces, steam a microfiber cloth and use it to wipe over the surfaces.

  • Do not use the unit to cook or rework food.
    Do not use it to fill containers like bottles, bags or balloons.

  • It is not allowed to use the unit to dissolve or remove substances that are dangerous to human health.

  • The symbol on the handle indicates that you can get scalded from the hot steam.

  • Disconnect the unit from the mains before service or cleaning and after its use. Let the unit cool down.

  • Only use pure tap water without additives, perfumes or any chemical substances.

  • The rinsing apertures that are under pressure, must not be opened during use.

  • Do not insert any object in the openings of the appliance and do not use it in case one of the openings is blocked.

  • Keep the device in a dry place. Do not expose it to atmospheric agents, humidity or heat.

  • Do not use the unit with wet hands or bare feet.

  • Improper handling of the steam cleaner, such as the use of distilled water instead of tap water for the operation of the steam cleaner or failure to perform the decalcification process when indicated by the service light, invalidates any warranty claim.

Iron for Ecolux Neo (optional)

  • This iron complies with EEC Regulations 2014/30/EU and 2014/ 35/EU.
  • Connect this iron only to an Ecolux Neo steam cleaner.
  • The iron must not be left unattended while it is connected to the supply mains.
  • The soleplate can become very hot and cause burns: never touch these parts.
  • Take care that the electrical cords do not get in contact with the hot iron soleplate or with sharp edges.
  • The iron must be used and rested on a flat, stable surface.
  • When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is placed is stable.
  • The iron is not to be used if it has dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking.
  • Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years of age when it is energized or cooling down.
  • The surfaces indicated with the symbol IEC 60417-5041 are liable to get hot during use.
  • Do not immerse the iron in water.

**** At the end of its working life, the product must NOT be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection center or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health deriving from inappropriate disposal and enables the constituent materials to be recovered to obtain significant savings in energy and resources.

As a reminder of the need to dispose of household appliances separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out wheeled dustbin.

FIRST STEPS

Connect the unit

Unwind the cable completely and insert the plug into the mains.

The on/off button will flash.

Switch on the unit by pressing the on/off button.

Water filling

Fill tap (not distilled) water into the unit. The pump will fill the boiler.

When the pump stops working remove the bottle. After a short break the remaining water will be pumped into the boiler.

Unit heating

During the heating time the light of the steam levels flashes.

When the unit is ready for use, the steam level lights will stop flashing.

Connect the hose

Plug the hose into the unit and secure it with the socket lid.

Blocking the steam release

Before connecting or changing any accessory, always block the steam release by pressing steam level 3 for 3 seconds. The steam release button will deactivate and there will be no steam level indication on the unit anymore. To unblock the steam release,  press any of the steam level buttons.

Connect the accessories

Always use the hose with an accessory. Connect it by clicking them onto the handle.

Steam levels

Select the steam level on the upper side of the handle. Release steam by pressing the button on the lower side of the handle .

USAGE

Only use the steam cleaner in the home to clean regular dirt from surfaces that can withstand high temperature, pressure and moisture.

Only use the steam cleaner indoors and do not store it in sub-zero temperatures.

ACCESSORIES

Floor Nozzle

Connect the tubes and the floor nozzle to the hose.

Press the nozzle onto the cloth.

Diamond Nozzle

Connect the diamond nozzle to the hose handle. Press the nozzle onto the cloth

Block the side movement (optional)

Block the side movement of the cleaning head by sliding the lock in place. To remove it, press the button in the back of the locking and slide it up.

Pointed Nozzles

Connect one of the pointed nozzles to the handle. The pointed nozzles can be used to steam surfaces from a distance or to clean narrow spaces like faucet rims, sealings in the dish washer, fridge, shower or similar.

Brushes & Curve

Connect the brushes or the curve to the pointed nozzle.

The brushes add mechanical scrapping to the steam for better pore cleaning and dirt removal.

Drain cleaner

Fix the drain cleaner onto the pointed nozzle.

Position it on the faucet drain and steam (level 3).

Place a cloth in front of the upper sink opening.

Be careful as the sink opening may get very hot and release steam

IRON (OPTIONAL)


Setting

Always pay attention to the ironing indication on the clothing label. Plug the iron into the Ecolux Neo and set the temperature. When the lamp turns off, the iron is ready for use.

Steam selection

The iron is set at steam level 2 for optimal ironing.

To change the steam level, press the upper button (1).

To release the steam, press the lower handle button (2).

Proper use

For effective ironing steam only when moving forward, and do not steam when moving backwards.

Use steam level 3 only for multiple layer or vertical ironing.

UNIT CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Indication

The service indication turns on, when the unit requires decalcification of the boiler. Unplug the unit and wait until it cooled down completely. Remove the rubber lid on the bottom of the unit. The drain screw under the rubber lid must be cold. Open it slowly and carefully. In case there is still some pressure in the boiler, stop opening it immediately and wait until the pressure is gone. Empty the boiler and close the screw.

Boiler filling

Plug in the unit. Press the on/off button for 5 seconds, the service light will flash.

Pour 100ml of decalcification liquid into the water bottle, fill the rest of the bottle with water and fill the unit. Wait until the mixture has been pumped into the boiler. Unplug the unit and wait for 15 minutes. Emptying the boiler and reset
Empty the boiler by opening the drain screw. Close the screw, plug in the unit, fill a bottle of fresh water into the water tank and wait until it has been pumped into the boiler. Unplug the unit and empty the boiler by opening the screw. Close the screw again. The unit will reset automatically when the cleaning steps have been done correctly

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Cause Correction
The display stays dark. The power supply is interrupted. Check if the unit

is connected properly to the mains.
There is no electricity supplying the unit.| Check the socket of the power supply and the fuse.
The unit does not steam.| The steam valve is locked.| Press any steam level on the hose handle.
There is no water in the boiler. The red light is illuminated.| Fill water into the tank.
The hose is not plugged in properly.| Plug in the hose and secure it with the socket lid.
The unit is heating up.| Wait until the temperature has been reached.
The water pump does not work.| The boiler is full, 4 lights are shining steadily.| No water needed – check the display.
The unit is standing in an unsuitable position.| Make sure the unit is standing horizontally.
There is distilled water in the boiler.| The steam cleaner is designed to operate with tap water only. Drain the distilled water from the boiler and replace it with tap water.
The service symbol does not switch off.| The cleaning process has not been performed according to instructions.| Follow the instructions step by step, making sure you disconnect the unit when needed.
The neck of the cleaning head is not turning.| The lock is inserted.| Loosen the locking on the cleaning head neck
The unit releases steam from the bottom of the device.| The safety valve has been activated.| Unplug the unit and call the Lux Service Center.
In cases where the problem cannot be solved, call the Lux Service Center. Do not, under any circumstance, operate a faulty unit
