The output power of your receiver or amplifier must not exceed the maximum input power of the speaker system, and you should maintain an appropriate volume level to avoid distortion. Refer to the “Specifications” section for the maximum input power.

  • Before connecting, ensure that the amplifier is turned off to prevent any potential damage to the speaker system.
  • When switching the amplifier or program source power on/off, lower the sound level on the amplifier to its minimum setting.
  • If you notice a lack of bass sound or unclear sound output from musical instruments, double-check that the +/– terminals of the speaker cords are correctly connected.

Owner’s Record

The model and serial numbers are located on the bottom of the unit. Record the serial numbers in the space provided below. Refer to them whenever you call upon your Sony dealer regarding this product. Model No. Serial No.

Features

The forward-facing and upward-facing super tweeter configuration achieves a multidirectional listening experience. Uniquely shaped front panels with boldly cut edges also help prevent sound diffraction. That way, high-quality sound from sound sources or CDs can be enjoyed in a wider area than with conventional speakers.

Precautions

  • Avoid continuously operating the speaker system with a wattage that exceeds the maximum input power specified for each speaker.
  • Refrain from placing any objects on top of the speakers.
  • Do not try to open the speaker enclosure or remove the speaker units. There are no user-serviceable components inside, and attempting to do so may cause damage.
  • Keep recorded tapes, watches, personal credit cards, and hard disk drives using magnetic coding away from the speaker system.
  • The speaker system has been tuned without the grill on. Remove the grill before using the speaker system.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • To avoid damaging the enclosure, do not use substances like thinner, alcohol, or benzene for cleaning.
  • Maintain the enclosure’s gloss by first dusting it with a soft cloth, brush, or feather duster, then polishing it with a dry cleaning cloth. Avoid using abrasive scrubbing brushes or sponges.
  • When dealing with fingerprints or oil stains, breathe on the surface and wipe them off gently with a cleaning cloth.
  • If the enclosure is heavily soiled, wipe it with a soft cloth slightly dampened with a mixture of soap and water. Be cautious not to scratch the surface.
  • Use a blower brush or a soft brush to remove dust and dirt from the super tweeter (top panel).

Speaker Placement:

  • Consider that room acoustics can significantly affect sound quality, even with minor changes in speaker placement.
  • Position the speaker system against a hard wall with its back approximately 20 cm away from the wall.
  • Ensure that both the right and left speakers are placed in similar acoustic environments.

Do not place the speaker system in the following locations:

  • Extremely hot or sun-exposed areas
  • Dusty environments
  • Highly humid areas
  • Near electronic devices
  • In cabinets, especially those positioned above eye level.
