ACF Greenhouses D8046 Intake Fan System Instructions
Screened Vent Installation
- Select a location to place the intake fan.Optimal place is close to the greenhouse floor to provide fresh air to plants.
- Draw a circle the size of the vent pipe where you want to cut a hole for the vent.
- Use a drill or a razor to create an opening large enough to insert a fine saw blade inside the outlined area of the wall panel.
- Cut out the remainder of the outlined area with the saw.
- Insert the screened vent pipe through the hole.
- Measure how much extra pipe you have, and cut vent pipe so the outside vent is flush against your structure when attached to the intake fan.
- Follow the same process on the opposite wall if adding an exhaust vent.
Intake Fan Installation
- Screw the mounting brackets to the intake fan.
- Fasten the fan to the greenhouse frame. DO NOT mount the fan to the covering because it willnot support the fan’s weight. You can make mounting brackets if needed out of 1” x 1” aluminum angle available at most hardware stores.
- Attach screened vent to inlet side of the intake fan and secure with 3 screws spaced evenly. (Self tapping Tek screws are provided for securing the vent pipe and screened cap to the fan.)
- Attach screened cap to other end of the fan and attach with 3 screws spaced evenly.
- Seal around where the vent exits your structure with silicone or caulking designed for the material it is mounted through.
Adding Controls
If you want to use the fan to provide fresh air inside your structure, add a
repeat cycle or programmable timer.
If you want to use the fan to lower humidity, a dehumidistat is recommended.
If you want the fan for cooling your structure, add a plug-in cooling
thermostat.
