/ HEATING CABLES FOR PIPES CONDENSATION DRAINAGE
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR INSTALLATION
Drain pipe heaters are uniquely designed to be laid inside pipes for draining
water from thawing refrigeration equipment’s installed in cold rooms. They
operate only during thawing cycles. In cold stores, after a certain time of
operation, there is a buildup of ice in cooler fins and defrosting must take
place. Electric resistances are inserted between the fins to melt ice and
water is collected and passed through a drain pipes for disposal. Some meters
of drain pipes are inside the cold stores, so consequently the water may
freeze again. To avoid this problem, a drain pipe heater is inserted in to the
pipe. It is switched on only during the defrosting cycles.
