BERTSCHAT Cycling Gloves Dual Heating
PROTECTION
The BERTSCHAT® dual heating cycling gloves heat your hands using a battery. The gloves are wind- and waterproof.
BEFORE FIRST USE
The batteries are not fully charged and must therefore be charged before first use for 8 hours minimum, regardless of the colour of the indicator LED. To get started insert the charger plugs in the charging ports of the batteries. Fully charging the batteries activates them, thus allowing the full capacity to be accessed. The LED on the charger lights up in red during charging and turns green once the battery is fully charged. Finally, remove the batteries from the charger, place them in the appropriate pockets in the gloves and connect them to the plugs.
SWITCHING ON THE HEATING
The heating is switched on by pressing the black silicon buttons on which the hands are displayed. The first button controls the heating on the back on the hand while the second one controls the palm. This allows both sides of the hand to be heated independently or at different levels of intensity.
TEMPERATURE SETTINGS
The temperature can be set by pressing the silicon buttons. When in use the buttons light up in one of the below colours indicating which setting is active:
Colour LED| Heating position|
---|---|---
Red| Highest position
Orange| Medium position
White| Lowest position
LED does not light up| Heating function switched off
WORD OF CAUTION
Never activate both heated sides at maximum intensity without a hand inside the gloves. The dual heating elements generate such an intense temperature that the gloves may get damaged!
OPERATING TIME
The heating duration of the under gloves depends on several factors: primarily
the ambient temperature and secondly the level of insulation added by gloves
worn over the under gloves. Lastly, a high setting will obviously deplete the
batteries faster than any of the lower settings. It should also be noted that
the batteries only reach their full charging capacity after a few charging
cycles.
Consider ordering an additional battery pack for longer use time.
SWITCHING OFF
The heating function is switched off by pressing the ON/OFF buttons until the LEDs no longer light up or alternatively by simply disconnecting the batteries.
After use of the gloves, always disconnect the batteries and keep them stored in their intended pockets. Store the gloves and the batteries in a dry and clean environment at room temperature.
STORAGE AND BATTERY MAINTENANCE
If you don’t intend on using the gloves for a longer period, we recommended storing the batteries charged between 50 and 75%. To do this first fully charge the batteries, then switch on only one side of the gloves at the medium setting for 20 – 30 minutes. Finally make sure to disconnect the batterie from the gloves. We urge to repeat these steps every 2 months to ensure that the batteries remain in good condition.
ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
- Always switch off the gloves after use.
- Disconnect the batteries when not in use.
- Store gloves, battery, and adapter in a cool and dry location.
- The batteries should only be charged with the original charger.
- Always remove the battery from the gloves before charging them.
- Never pull too hard on the gloves as the heating elements could get damaged.
- Keep the shirt away from sharp or pointed objects.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
- The gloves cannot be washed. Should they get dirty we advise to clean them with a wet cloth.
- Only allow the gloves to dry naturally and do not place them on the heating or any other heat source.
- If the gloves are damp, allow them to dry fully before charging.
- Do not dry clean the gloves.
- Do not iron the gloves.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If you notice that the gloves do not get warm, you can do the following test:
- Charge both batteries at the same time and interchange batteries. This determines whether the battery or the glove is no longer functioning properly.
- Does the LED on the charging cable not light up? The plug or charging cable is defective and does not receive any power.
- Insert both connectors in the gloves in the ports of the batteries. Now place the batteries in the pockets inside the gloves and then close the zip.
- The heating is switched on when pressing the black silicon ON/OFF button on the top of the gloves. The LED on the silicon button lights up to confirm that the heating function is switched on.
- When the LED is lit up the gloves are heating: you should be able to feel the generated heat within 1 minute at the fingers and at the top of the gloves.
WARNINGS
- The gloves are not suitable for use by minors.
- Do not make any changes to the gloves and/or battery.
- In case of damage to battery or charger, stop using the product.
- Leave the protective plastic around the battery.
- If the battery swells up, immediately stop using it and contact the supplier.
- Do not drill through the battery packs or make holes in the battery in any other way.
- Make sure the heating elements do not overlap while active and not being worn as this could lead to a situation where the gloves overheat.
- This product is only intended to be used by people and should not be used on animals.
- The gloves can become very warm. If you have a reduced sensitivity to heat or cold, we recommend consulting a doctor first.
- In case of a higher ambient temperature, the sensation of heat will be stronger. In that case, set the gloves to a lower position that does feel comfortable.
- In case of incorrect use of the battery, there is a possible explosion hazard.
- Avoid direct skin contact with the heating elements as this could lead to skin burns. If you notice a hole in the fabric or a visible heating wire, stop using the gloves and contact your supplier immediately.

DISPOSING OF THE BATTERIES
As we also supply batteries with our product, we are obliged according to legislation that applies to batteries to point out the following to you:
Batteries may not be disposed of as household waste. The consumer is legally obliged to return batteries separately after use. Old batteries could contain harmful substances that could damage your health or the environment if not properly stored and disposed of. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese, or nickel and can be reused. After use, you can return the batteries to us or hand them in for free at a location near you (e.g., at a shop or a municipal collection point). The crossed waste container symbol indicates that batteries should never be thrown out with your household waste.
