BERTSCHAT XXS Heated Body Warmer Pro Dual Heating
GENERAL OPERATION
The BERTSCHAT® bodywarmer heats the body by means of heating elements, supplied in electricity by two USB power banks. The bodywarmer can provide warmth at 3 different heat settings which can be adjusted by pressing the buttons on the chest. The front and back can be configured separately from each other allowing to always find the ideal temperature. The power banks are stored in the pockets on both sides of the bodywarmer where the connecting plugs are equally located.
ADJUSTING THE BODYWARMER TO SIZE
The bodywarmer is available in 2 sizes, from XXS to M and from M to XXXL. The zips on the side of the bodywarmer and the Velcro at the shoulders allow to easily adjust the size. This ensures the correct fit is always quickly achieved.
SWITCHING ON THE HEATING
Connect the bodywarmer to the power bank and switch it on. The buttons located on the chest should flash once indicating a successful connection after which it can be switched on by pressing them. The front side and back side heating need to be activated independently from one another. Active LED lights indicate that the bodywarmer is heating. After this, the heating position can be adjusted by clicking on the button. The bodywarmer has three heating positions. The bodywarmer starts at the warmest position when switched on.
The button lights up in the colour that corresponds with the set heating position.
Colour LED | Heating position |
---|---|
Red | Highest position |
Orange | Medium position |
White | Lowest position |
LED does not light up | Heating function switched of |
OPERATING TIME
The heating duration of the bodywarmer depends on several factors: primarily
the ambient temperature and secondly the level of insulation worn under the
bodywarmer. Lastly, a high setting will obviously deplete the batteries faster
than any of the lower settings. It should also be noted that the batteries
only reach their full charging capacity after a few charging cycles.
Consider ordering an additional battery pack for longer use time.
The bodywarmer is made to be worn under a sweater or coat. The better the
insulation around the bodywarmer, the more effectively the heat will remain at
your body.
SWITCHING OFF
The heating function is switched off by pressing the ON/OFF buttons until the
LEDs no longer light up or alternatively by simply disconnecting the
batteries.
After use of the bodywarmer, always disconnect the batteries and keep them
stored in their intended pockets. Store the bodywarmer and the batteries in a
dry and clean environment at room temperature.
ENERGY CONSUMPTION & POWER BANK
The bodywarmer works on any 5V USB power source, such as a telephone charger
or laptop USB connection. For mobile use a power bank will be necessary.
Although any power bank with a 5V USB connection can be used in combination
with the bodywarmer, BERTSCHAT® recommends using the separately available
BERTSCHAT® power bank designed for this use.
Most USB power banks are equipped with a 1A or 2.1A connection. Though the
bodywarmer will work on a 1A connection it will be able to generate more heat
when connected to a 2.1A connection. However, when using the 2.1A connection,
the power bank will deplete more quickly because more power is used.
It goes without saying that the more capacity the utilised power bank has, the
longer it will be able to heat. Some power banks must be switched on manually
before they provide power. Both the power bank and the bodywarmer will then
have to be switched on before the bodywarmer can become warm.
Operating the BERTSCHAT® power bank (separately available)
- Switching on: press the button once. By means of the indicator LEDS, you can read how much power remains.
- Switching off: press the button once more.
ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
- Always switch off the jacket after use.
- Remove the plug from the power bank if you are not using it.
- Store jacket and power bank in a cool and dry location.
- Always remove the power bank from the jacket before charging it.
- Never pull the jacket too hard, as the heating elements could get damaged otherwise.
- Keep the jacket away from sharp or pointed objects.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
There are heating elements in the bodywarmer, which are sturdy, but can get damaged when handled roughly. Handle the bodywarmer with care to prevent damage. Carefully place the power bank in the pocket. The power cable of the bodywarmer may not be folded double. Make sure the USB plug and cable are not subjected to excessive force.
- Only wash by hand! Use a soft washing agent and handle the bodywarmer with care.
- Do not put the bodywarmer in the tumble dryer, only allow the bodywarmer to dry naturally and do not place it on the heating or any other heat source.
- If the bodywarmer is damp, allow it to dry fully before charging.
- Do not dry clean the bodywarmer.
- Do not iron the bodywarmer.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If you notice that the bodywarmer doesn’t get warm, you can execute the following test:
-
Is the power bank fully charged?
Check if the 4 white LED lights activate when pressing the button. -
Is the power bank connected correctly?
Check that the power bank is properly connected to the plug. -
Is the plug of the jacket free from contaminations?
Dirt in the plug could block the connection. -
Test if the jacket is working as follows: connect the jacket to a fixed USB power source, such as a smartphone charger. If the jacket is working, it is possible that the power bank is defective.
-
Does the power bank not have sufficient power?
Try a different/stronger power bank with a minimum output of 2.1A.
WARNINGS
- The bodywarmer is not suitable for use by minors.
- Do not make any changes to the bodywarmer.
