BERTSCHAT CC 12 Heated Insoles Elite
Product Information: Heated Insoles Elite
The Heated Insoles Elite are electronic insoles designed to provide warmth and comfort to your feet. They have a built-in sensor that ensures the temperature remains at the set value. The insoles consume more or less energy depending on the ambient temperature and insulation of the shoe.
The insoles come with a remote control that has three temperature positions and a power button. The remote control allows you to switch off the soles temporarily and activate the heat at your desired temperature. The insoles have lithium-polymer batteries with a capacity of 2,200 mAh.
Product Usage Instructions: Heated Insoles Elite
- Before using the Heated Insoles Elite for the first time, fully charge them and use them until the soles are discharged. This will activate the battery and ensure its full capacity.
- To charge the insoles, connect them to the provided USB charger. The LEDs in the soles will turn red during charging and change to blue when the battery is full. For the first three charging cycles, maintain a charging time of 8 hours regardless of LED color.
- To connect the remote control to the insoles:
- Press and hold the button on one of the soles for a few seconds.
- The sole will flash red/blue.
- Press button I, II, or III on the remote control.
- The sole will be connected and jump to the set position.
- Repeat this process for the other sole.
- Now, both soles are connected to the remote control.
- To control the temperature, use positions I, II, and III on the remote control. Position III provides the highest temperature. Use the power button to switch off the soles temporarily.
- If the soles are fully discharged, switch them on again using the button on the side before the remote control will respond. The button on the sole always has precedence over the remote control.
- The Heated Insoles Elite can be cut to size for a better fit. Cut them at the indicated lines on the front bottom of the sole. Do not cut beyond the last line. There is a maximum room for cutting of 0.5 cm on both sides of the sole.
Note: The duration of the battery depends on ambient conditions. Cold temperatures and poorly insulated or damp shoes may result in quicker battery depletion compared to normal winter conditions or well-insulated shoes.
For charging and maintenance, refer to the manufacturer’s instructions provided with the product.
GENERAL OPERATION
The BERTSCHAT® heated soles heat your feet by means of an electric heating
element. An internal battery provides the soles with energy. The soles can
provide heat in three positions. The position can be adjusted by means of the
button on the sole or on the remote control.
Caution: The button on the sole is a push button, not a sliding button.
The sensor in the sole ensures that the temperature remains at the set value.
Depending on the ambient tempera-ture and the insulation of the shoe, the sole
will consume more or less energy.
STARTING AND CONNECTING THE REMOTE CONTROL
The first three times, the soles will have to be fully charged and used until
the soles are discharged. In this way, the battery is fully activated and will
have its full capacity.
When charging, the LEDs in the soles turn red. When the battery is full, the
colour turns to blue. For the first three times of charging, a charging time
of 8 hours should be maintained, irrespective of the colour of the LEDs in the
soles.
Connecting the remote control:
- Press the button of the sole for a few seconds.
- The sole now flashes red/blue.
- Now press button I, II or III of the remote control.
- The sole has now been connected and jumps to the set position.
- Repeat this process for the other sole as well.
- Now, the soles are connected to the remote control.
You only have to execute this process once (for both soles). The remote
control remains connected when the sole is switched off with the remote
control in the meantime. The sole remains standby and still uses a little
power.
When you switch off the sole with the push button on the sole, the sole must
also be switched on again with the push button. If you will not be using the
soles for a longer period of time, we recommend using the push button and not
the remote control. This prevents the soles from being discharged too deeply.
If the remote control ever gets disconnected, it can be connected again by
means of the above-mentioned process. It is also possible to connect a new
remote control in this way.
Functions of the remote control:
The remote control has three positions and a power button. If you want to
switch off the soles temporarily, you can press the power button. Do you want
to activate the heat? Press the required temperature position. By means of
positions I, II and III you are able to control the temperatures (position III
is the warmest position).
When the sole is empty, you can charge it again with the provided USB charger.
If the sole has been fully off after discharging, you must switch it on again
by means of the button on the side before the remote control will respond. The
button on the sole always has precedence. If you switched off the sole with
the button, it cannot be switched on again by means of the remote control.
CUTTING TO SIZE
At the front of the bottom of the sole you will find a number of lines with
size indications. Do not cut off the soles any further than the last line. On
the side of the sole, you will have a maximum room for cutting on both sides
of 0.5 cm.
The BERTSCHAT® Heated Soles were designed with a front that is as thin as
possible, to make the space in your shoes as comfortable as possible. This
ergonomic sole can replace your current insole.
Do not bend the soles by more than 90 degrees. If the sole is bent further,
the heating element could get damaged.
DURATION OF THE BATTERY
Your soles have lithium-polymer batteries of the latest generation.
Considering their size, these have the maximum possible capacity. The size of
the battery, and therefore the period of operation of the soles, is determined
by the dimensions of the battery that fits inside.
The duration of the battery depends on several ambient conditions. The more
heat is able to escape from the sole, the more power the heating element will
demand. In case of a cold ambient temperature and a poorly insulated or damp
shoe, the battery will empty more quickly than under normal winter conditions
or when wearing a shoe that is able to hold a lot of heat inside by nature.

CHARGING & MAINTENANCE
After having been fully charged and discharged three times, the battery may
always be recharged, irrespective of how much charge remains.
- During charging the soles should be off.
- Only use the provided adapter for charging.
- Only clean the soles with a damp cloth.
- Store the soles in a dry and clean location.
- If the soles have become wet, allow them to dry in the air. Do not use heating, a hair dryer or any other heat source.
Important:
When a battery is not being used for a longer period of time, it will build up
an internal resistance. To prevent this, we recommend storing the battery in a
dry condition and at room temperature, charged at approx. 50-75%. It is
recommended to recharge the battery every two months for about 15 minutes.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
The entire heating technology and the battery are located in the sole. Handle
the soles with sufficient care. The batteries are surrounded by a protective
layer, the user should not cut this sole open or drill through it.
PREVENTING PROBLEMS
-
Did you connect the plugs properly? Check that the plugs are connected to a USB connection and that both plugs in the soles are functioning.
-
Is the sole in the off position during charging? The soles should be off when they are being charged.
-
Does the LED in the sole turn red during charging? The LED lights up in red when the soles are being charged.
-
Does the LED in the sole turn blue after some time? The soles are fully charged when the LED on the sole turns blue.
-
Does it work when the plugs of the soles are mutually exchanged? If one of the plugs does work, it is possible that a cable is broken.
-
Are the plugs (in the sole and of the cable) free from contaminations?
Dirt on the charger may block the power supply. Try a different USB charger. -
Do the soles not last long enough? How long the soles last depends on several factors:
- Outdoor temperature.
- Shoes.
- Heat position.
In the soles there are sensors that monitor the heat. When you have well insulated shoes, the soles will require less energy to achieve the same result.
Tip: in due course, fully charge the soles three times, then use them without interruption until they are completely empty. This could give an energy boost, giving them back the original power.
- Do the soles flash?
It is possible that the soles flash. This means that the battery has been discharged too deeply for a longer period of time (this should always be prevented). A safety measure has occurred to protect the battery. You can deactivate it by inserting the plug in the socket and remove it until the flashing has stopped. Now, the battery will charge again.
FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS:
- Always switch off the soles after use.
- Remove both plugs from the soles if you are not using them.
- Store the soles and adapter in a cool and dry location.
- The soles may only be charged with the original charger.
- Keep the soles away from sharp or pointed objects.
- If the soles have become wet, only allow them to dry naturally and do not place them on the heating or any other heat source.
- If the soles are damp, allow them to dry fully before charging.
