HINTS AND TIPS

  • Know how to setup your tent before you leave:
    • Pitch tent at home to ensure all components are included (pegs, guy lines etc.)
  • Choose a flat spot to setup tent, clear debris such as twigs and stones.
  • If windy, look for natural wind breaks (beware of hazards such as dead standing trees etc.) and pitch door facing away from the wind.
  • Use guy lines even if the weather looks calm, it can change quickly!

SAFE CAMPING

  • BEWARE OF CARBON MONOXIDE POSIONING
  • Ensure ventilation ports are not covered and fully open.
  • Tents can burn, DO NOT smoke, use any open flame or fuel burning device inside your tent. This includes matches, candles, lamps and disposable barbeques etc.
  • DO NOT setup tent near an open flame such as a fire or gas cooker.
  • DO NOT setup tent beneath trees.
  • If camping on a beach, ensure you are well above high tide line.
  • If camping near a river ensure you are well away from the bank, as flash flooding can occur without warning.
  • If staying for more than one night, check your tent ensuring any guy lines are tightened and dislodged pegs are firmly back in place.

BACK HOME

  • After returning from a trip, hang or if possible pitch your tent in a cool dry area with good ventilation. If this is not done, you risk causing mildew which will damage your tent.
  • Clean all components of your tent such as pegs and poles and inspect for damage.
  • For spot removal, clean with a damp cloth and warm soapy water (max 3O°C). Use pure soap flakes only.
  • When all parts of your tent are completely dry, fold and store in its bag ready for your next trip.
  • In the unlikely event your tent develops a small leak, this can be repaired with a reproofed and/or seam sealer.
  • Our tents come with basic repair kits for repairs such as small rips.
