12 numbered Kubb pins, one throwing stick, instruction manual
The Game
Numbers Kubb can be played individually player against player or in teams with 2 or 3 players per side.
Objective
Be the first player/team to achieve exactly 50 points by knocking down the
numbered pins. Preparation: Set up the 12 numbered pins in a tight cluster as
illustrated below. Set the throwing line at 3 to 4 metres from the pins.
A – Kubb Pins
B – Throwing stick
Gameplay
From the throwing line, players take turns to throw the throwing stick
(underarm only) towards the number pins. After each throw, the score is noted
from the pins which have fallen. The fallen pins are placed upright where they
fell and so as the game progresses so the play area spreads out.
Scoring
A multiple pin score occurs when more than one pin falls. For example, if you
knock down pins 7, 11 and 12 this scores three (the number of pins fallen) and
not the numbers on the pins.
A single pin score is when only one pin falls and the number on that pin is
used as the score for that round. For example, if pin 7 falls, the score is
seven. Further rules
Any player or team that scores zero points three rounds in a row is
eliminated.
If a player or teams’ score exceeds 50 their score is immediately reduced to
25 and play continues. Whichever player or team scores exactly 50 points
claims the glory and has defeated their friends or “enemies” with a lump of
wood!.
