Charging
This headlamp has a built-in 1200mAH Li-ion battery pack. The Zartek ZA-438
headlamp is USB rechargeable yet bright with a long operating time. To locate
the charging socket, lift the rubber cover on the back of the headlamp. Plug
in provided USB mains adaptor, attach cable and then insert C type cable USB
connector into socket to charge. Recharge also via USB port on computer,
laptop or using a standard micro USB mains charger not exceeding 5V or 1A.
A red LED on the headlamp indicates charging, which turns to green when fully
charged.
Recharging is easy and safe as the battery cannot be overcharged. Charging
will stop once full.
- Charging time (1A): 4 hours
- Li-ion rechargeable battery
- Over 500 recharge cycles possible
Charging time may vary depending on the current rating of the supply
Although the unit arrives partially charged from the factory, it must be fully
charged for 4 hours before first use. This initial charge pre-conditions the
battery for full capacity. Failure to charge may shorten the life span of the
battery. Once the light gets dim, recharge the battery immediately as it could
get damaged if left very flat.
Always make sure to push down the rubber cover over the socket after charging
to keep headlamp splash proof.
WARNING!
- Fully charge the headlamp before storing for long periods. Keep recharging every few months or the battery may go faulty.
- Do not recharge this headlamp with any other adaptors other than those stipulated: micro USB 5V, not exceeding 1A.
- Do not dispose of the battery in a fire or ordinary waste.
- Do not operate the headlamp in high temperature, hazardous or explosive environments.
- Do not subject the headlamp to strong impacts or tight compressions.
- Do not disassemble or modify the headlamp as it contains protective devices which, if damaged, may cause the battery to heat or ignite.
- Do not leave the headlamp in direct sunlight or hot spaces for extended periods.
- Never short circuit, reverse polarity, disassemble, damage or heat the battery packs over 100°C. If an exploded Li-ion battery does ignite, it will burn more violently if it comes into contact with water or moisture. Never put water on a burning Li-ion battery only use a fire extinguisher.
- This headlamp is rain and splash proof only but not submersible. If the light gets submersed in water, immediately dry the headlamp and do not use for a few days. Water damage is usually irreparable.

modes.
The ZA-438 headlamp is elegantly designed with 2 types of LED which provide
different beam shapes of light.
Rectangle front COB LED, 350 Lumens, is a wide 230° beam and with uniform
brightness for area lighting up to 50 square meters. The side round XPE LED,
150 Lumens, is a focused beam. Both lights have high modes for maximum
lighting applications as well as medium brightness modes for longer operating
times.
There are 5 modes:
Front Hi 2.5hrs > Med 5 hours > Side Hi 4 hours > Med 8 hours > OFF
Flashing both LED, once light is ON, press in and hold button for 2 seconds to
switch flashing ON.

buttons.

The Bartek ZA-438 headband headlamp is lightweight (70g) with silicon rubber
for comfortable wearing even over long times whilst camping, running, hiking,
cycling, fishing, reading, working, repair or with general use. Its casing is
durable and splash proof IPX4 to provide years of daily use. LED globes are
shockproof and never need replacing.

All batteries lose charge over time. It is recommended that the headlamp
should be fully recharged every 2-3 months when not in use.
