Precautions
- On Safety
- Should any liquid or solid object fall into the system, unplug the system’s power cord and have the system checked by qualified personnel before operating it any further.
- On operation
- Be careful with the position of the volume knob of the AV receiver so as not to drive the speaker system with a continuous wattage exceeding the maximum input power of the system.
- If the polarity of the speaker connections is not correct, the bass tones will be weak, and the position of the various instruments obscure.
- Before connecting, turn off the AV receiver to avoid damaging the speaker system.
- The volume level should not be turned up to the point of distortion.
- On placement
- Install the speaker system on a firm and horizontally flat surface.
- Do not use the speakers upside down or sideways.
- Avoid placing the speakers in locations that are:
- Extremely hot or cold
- Dusty or dirty
- Very humid
- Subject to vibrations
- Subject to direct sunlight
- Near magnetic cards (credit cards, commuter passes, etc.) as they may fail due to the magnets in the speaker units.
- Near CRT-based televisions (The speakers are not magnetically shielded and can cause color shading on the television screen.)
- Use caution when placing the speaker on specially treated (waxed, oiled, polished, etc.) surfaces to avoid staining or discoloration.
- Follow the instructions for wall mounting as described in the Setup Guide.
- Install the speakers according to the instructions as shown in the Setup Guide to prevent falling.
- For wall mounting:
- Prepare screws (not supplied) suitable for the wall material and strength.
- Ensure secure attachment in plasterboard walls.
- Install speakers horizontally, hung by screws in wall studs.
- Installation should be done by a Sony dealer or licensed contractor with attention to safety.
- Sony is not responsible for accidents or damage due to improper installation or natural disasters.
- Ceiling installation is not guaranteed.
- On moving
- Remove the connection cord when moving the speaker system.
- Do not move with the speaker system on other equipment to avoid dropping or injury.
- Do not carry the speaker system by holding the grill net, speaker unit part, or back terminal part.
- On cleaning
- Clean the speaker cabinets with a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution or water. Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powder, alcohol, or benzine.

Troubleshooting
Should you encounter a problem with your speaker, check the following list and take the indicated measures. If the problem persists, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
- There is no sound from the speaker.
- Make sure the connections have been correctly made.
- Make sure the volume on the amplifier has been turned up properly.
- Make sure the program source selector on the amplifier is set to the proper source.
- Make sure the headphones are not connected.
- There is hum or noise in the speaker output.
- Make sure the connections have been correctly made.
- Make sure none of the audio components are positioned too close to the TV set.
- The sound has suddenly stopped.
- Make sure the connections have been correctly made.
- Contact between bare speaker wires at the speaker terminals may cause a short circuit.
- Cannot feel the effect of surround.
- Set the automatic sound field correction of the AV receiver again.
- Check the surround setting on the AV receiver.
- Check that the sound source of the software you want to play is a surround sound source.
- Make sure that the AV receiver is Dolby ATMOS compatible.
To play the Dolby ATMOS effect, you need a compatible player or AV receiver.
