Installation Instructions
3625 Exterior Signal Booster
The Doran Exterior Signal Booster, part #3625, amplifies tire sensor RF signals. The Booster contains a receiver and a transmitter that increase the range at which the sensors can transmit data. The Booster is built with a heavy‐duty weatherproof construction and can be mounted outside of the vehicle.
-
Supplying Power to the Exterior Signal Booster
The Booster is powered with a minimum of 12 VDC and a maximum of 24 VDC. When connecting the Booster to the voltage supply, connect the RED wire to the 12 ‐ 24‐volt positive (+) source and the BLACK wire to a negative (‐) ground. The Booster is fused internally so additional fusing is not necessary. When connected to power, a red LED light is visible through the cover plate where the power cord enters the unit. The light will remain on whenever the unit is powered. -
Placement of the Exterior Signal Booster
Locate the Booster toward the rear of the vehicle so the sensors furthest away from the monitor can be received and retransmitted to the monitor. To prevent reduced effectiveness, keep the Booster clear of large metal structures. To achieve the best reception and signal transmission, mount the Booster behind the rear axle of the vehicle with the attached antenna pointed towards the ground. Test the location of the Booster before permanently attaching it to the vehicle. -
Mounting the Exterior Signal Booster
Mount the Booster in a vertical position toward the rear of the vehicle with the antenna pointed down. Mount the Booster using the 4 mounting tabs and the included hardware. If a remote antenna kit is used with the exterior signal booster, refer to DPM‐ 3623 – Remote Antenna Kit instructions.
