practices that could result in personal injury or damage to property.
WARNING
We supply an extensive range of power chairs to meet the varying needs of
individual users. It is the responsibility of the individual user and their
healthcare advisor qualified in making such choices, to decide which power
chair is suitable for the user’s intended purpose.
With regards to restraints, seat positioning straps, posture correction or
other positional aids and accessories, it is the obligation of the qualified
healthcare professional in conjunction with the dealer to ensure the
suitability of such equipment for the safe operation of the power chair.
Serious injury can occur in the event of a fall from a power chair.
For motor vehicle occupancy, the safest alternative is for an individual to be
seated and properly secured in a motor vehicle manufacturer designed and
installed seating system complying with international standards governing
motor vehicle design and safety.
Recognizing, however, that many individuals suffering mobility impairment are
practically incapable of transferring to an automobile seat for automotive
transport, international legislation, enacted with the support of advocates
for the disabled and industry stakeholders, have adopted ISO 7176-19 as a
crash worthiness testing standard for occupied transfer of mobility devices.
Fusion E® has been tested and successfully passed the ISO 7176-19 for four-
point tiedowns.

BATTERY AND CHARGING INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
Batteries are the power source for almost all of the modern mobility products
available today. The design of batteries used in mobility products is
significantly different from the batteries used to start a car for example.
Car batteries are designed to release a large
amount of power over a short period of time, whilst mobility batteries
(commonly called deep cycle batteries) release their power evenly over a long
period of time. Therefore, due to the lower production volumes and increased
technological requirements, mobility batteries are typically more expensive.
Commonly, 2x 12 volt batteries are used together in a mobility product giving
a total voltage of 24 volts. The size of the battery (e.g. its available
power) is expressed in amps per hour (e.g. 10amp/hr). The higher the number,
the bigger the battery size, weight and, potentially, the greater the distance
you can travel.
Warning
- You can only use our original charger. Using other chargers will affect the warranty of the product. Using an unapproved charger can result in serious damage to the battery or power chair. Using the wrong charger can even cause a fire hazard.
- Handle and dispose of the battery and charger carefully.
- Do not throw the battery into the fire. Dispose of the battery in accordance with local regulations;
- Do not place the battery around the heating device. The battery may overheat and may explode;
- Do not squeeze or puncture the battery. Do not expose the battery to external high voltage, as this may cause internal short-circuit or overheating.
Warning
Do not charge the battery in a smoking or open flame environment; do not touch the metal terminals of the battery; use only the batteries provided with the power chair. If the battery is damaged or the battery case is damaged, contact your local dealer immediately and do not attempt to repair it yourself.
Dealer alert
Wear insulated gloves and goggles when operating the leaking battery. Damaged
and leaking batteries should be replaced in a timely manner.
BATTERY, CHARGING AND BATTERY MAINTENANCE
Battery
If the appearance of the battery is damaged, please handle it carefully. Watch
out! The battery fluid is corrosive. Avoid direct contact. If contact with
skin or clothing occurs, rinse immediately with soap and water. If it comes
into contact with your eyes, immediately rinse your eyes with water for at
least 10 minutes and seek medical attention. In this case, call your local
dealer for assistance. Please do not dispose of the battery as ordinary waste.
Follow local laws!
Charging
- Charge the power chair only with an approved charger.
- No matter how many times your power chair is driven in a day, your battery will fully charge overnight. Please do not interrupt the charging cycle.
- If you are not using your power chair for a long time, continue to charge it regularly. This will not damage the battery.
- When the power is turned off, do not connect the charger plug to the handle lever terminal, as this will drain the battery.
- If you leave your power chair for more than 5 days, charge your battery for 12 hours, then unplug the charger and make sure the battery is disconnected.
- Incorrect charging at full load can damage the battery and can result in shorter driving distances and permanent failures.
- Except in an emergency, do not charge intermittently during the day and wait until the night to charge.
- The battery needs to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If there is any obvious damage, please contact your local dealer immediately.
Following all eight of these recommendations will help make your power chair
drive farther and your battery last longer.
Note!
Watch out! Do not short the battery terminals! Keep away from all
conductive jewelry (such as watches, necklaces, etc.) before checking the
battery. When charging is complete, remove the charging plug from the power
chair. The power chair cannot be operated while charging.
Maintenance
The type of battery used here is an internal battery that uses a completely
sealed gel electrolyte, which means that no special maintenance is required
other than normal charging. At the same time, the tightness of the battery
compartment allows you to transport safely without having to worry about
electro-hydraulic spillage.
CAUTION: Do not expose the battery to high temperatures. Do not recharge
under outdoor conditions. Do not smoke near the charge. Exclude all open
flames from the area.
Range
We measure the mileage of power chairs with uniform standards and methods, but
there are still differences in actual mileage due to the differences in
terrain, user weight and environmental conditions.
The measured mileage is based on the ISO 7176-4 standard. The theoretical
maximum mileage of an power chair should be indicated, but the mileage is
still reduced due to the following single or combined or environmental
factors:
- The user weighs more than 120 kg
- The battery’s operating conditions and age are lower and older than required
- Difficult, unsuitable terrain (i.e. hilly, sloping ground, muddy ground, gravel, grass, snow and ice, and other environmental factors);
- The slope on which the power chair climbs
- Extreme ambient temperature
- Tire wear
- Frequent driving and parking
- Indoor thick carpet.
Note: When you are driving outdoors and find that your power chair status
light is red, you can increase your mileage by lowering the maximum available
speed.
We have set out a battery care plan for maintenance free batteries. If a
different care plan is followed, this may result in lower than expected
performance from your mobility vehicle.
