Introduction

Time-Electronics-7117-Pneumatic-Hand-Pumps-FIG-1

Pocket sized pumps that provide a simple and compact solution to field pressure generation. Each pump combines a smooth and controlled operation with a rugged yet lightweight design, making them the ideal tool for instrumentation engineers that perform site pressure testing. Construction is anodized aluminium with a durable plastic handle that prevents body heat transfer from interfering with readings. An oversized check valve enables smooth operation, and dual o-rings on all pistons to ensure zero leakage. Both units are supplied with a 1 meter 6/4 mm hose and fitting. Both units are supplied with a 1 meter 6/4 mm hose and fitting (1/4 BSP as standard, others upon request). Optional digital pressure gauges are available from the TE Gauge range, with both vacuum and compound models available. Recommended gauges are the TEG-CV7b models that cover the range of the 7118 and 7117 (vacuum to 7 bar) with accuracies of 0.2, 0.1, 0.05, and 0.02 % of full scale available.

Operational Guidelines

  1. Ensure all units under test are disconnected from process pressures before connecting the pump.
  2. Do not exceed the maximum pressure rating:
    • 7117: -1 bar (-14.5psi)
    • 7118: 10 bar (145psi).
  3. Both 7117 and 7118 are supplied with ¼” BSP Female (¼” NPT Female on request).
  4. Use only PTFE tape or PTFE washer to seal the process connector to the unit under test. Hand tighten, and then fully tighten with a spanner. Do not over-tighten, this could strip thread.
  5. Prior to operation, turn the vernier control to the middle of its travel.
  6. Do not use with liquids.

Operation

  1. Connect the pump via a suitable adaptor to the unit under test (UUT).
  2. Set the vernier control to the midpoint of its travel.
  3. Close the vent knob.
  4. Pull the handle out and push back in to increase the vacuum or pressure, repeating until the desired output is achieved.
  5. Use the vernier control for fine adjustments.
  6. To release the vacuum or pressure turn the pressure relief valve cap anticlockwise until released.
