BEFORE USE

  • Congratulations on your new Heat Experience Heated Insoles. Before you start using them there are some things you should know.
  • The Heated Insoles must be fully charged before first use, or after a long period (2 months or more) of no use.
  • Charge the soles by connecting each sole to the USB cable, and connect it to a power supply. (At least 1A output). Do not charge unattended. Do not leave charger in wall, or leave insoles charging longer than 5-6 hrs.
  • When the red light is on, charging is ongoing. If the purple light is flashing, go to “Maintenance and use” for more information.
  • Charging takes about 3-4 hours. When charging is complete, the red light turns off, and a blue light turns on. Pair the soles to the remote before you put them in your shoes.
  • For the best effect, turn on the heat before you get cold. We recommend that you test and get to know your heated insoles before heading out.

QUICK TIPS

  1. If possible, turn on the insoles while indoors (in a warmer environment), this will help to protect the battery against getting cold, and prolong battery life.
  2. Insoles can be tailored to your size, within the cutlines marked on the sole. Do not cut inside the inner marked line, this can result in damaging the heating system. Such damage is not covered by the warranty.
  3. Remember to remove the shoes’ original insoles before inserting the Heat Experience Heated insoles.

USE MANUAL MODE

The soles can be used both in manual mode, or with the remote.

Manual mode:

  • While the sole is off, press the button to switch on. The sole will now start in the lowest temperature mode (I), represented by blue light. The powerbutton and charging port is located behind the cover on the side of the sole.
  • Press the button again to switch to medium temperature mode (II). In this mode the light is purple.
  • Press the button yet again to switch to the highest temperature mode (III). In this mode the light is red.
  • Push once more, and the sole will turn off (no light).
  • Before first use, you need to either charge the insoles, or long press the button (10 seconds, or until light turns on) to start using the insoles.

USE REMOTE CONTROL MODE

  • For first time use, or if the soles have been turned off manually, you have to turn on the soles manually for the remote to work.
  • To pair the remote to the soles:
  • Press and hold the powerbutton on the soles for 5 seconds. The light on the soles will now start blinking to indicate pairing mode is activated.
  • Press any button on the remote, and it will pair with the soles.
  • Test that the insoles are responding to the remote before installing the insole in shoes. Ifeverything is working, the controller will flash when pushed, and the insole will respond according to the buttons on the remote. The remote range is 5m.
  • After 15 hours the insoles will go into hibernation mode to save battery. You will need to turn on the insoles manually by long pressing the power button 5+ seconds, or charge, to make the remote work again.

The remote has four buttons:

  • Low temperature setting + ON
  • Medium temperature setting
  • High temperature setting
  • Turn the sole off

TROUBLESHOOTING

Make sure the soles are fully charged.
Ensure that the remote has battery (If the remote works, a red light flashes from the top when any button on the remote are pressed). To change the battery you need to unscrew the back cover.
Battery code: 27A If you experience low range, or unstable function of the remote, a new battery might fix the issue. If the remote battery is low you might experience unstable connection. In this case it can help to hold the remote button for ~2sec to change heating level or switch on/off.
To reset the insoles

  1. charge the insoles for about 20 min
  2. quickly disconnect and reconnect the charging cable. The insoles should now be reset, and the diode should light up red.

HEATING LEVELS

Button Temperature* Indicator light Duration*
I ~35°C/95°F Blue ~6 hours
II ~40°C/104°F Purple ~4 hours
III ~45°C/ 113°F Red
ON/OFF None

The given temperatures and lifetimes are estimates only. Battery lifetime and temperature will vary depending on the ambient temperature, moisture and the shoes insulation values.

MAINTENANCE AND USE

  • To avoid deep discharge the soles needs to be maintainance charged. Deep discharge willreduce the lifetime of the battery significantly, result in permanent damage, or even result in a dead insole.
  • The insoles should be charged every 2 to 3 months if not in use, to prolong lifetime. For long term storage, charge the insoles to about 50-80%. Repeat discharge and recharge to 50-80% every 2-3  months. Store in a cool and dry place, between 5°C/41°F to 20°C/68°F
  • If the soles have been drained for battery, and the light flashes when charging, they need a reset. Go to this link for more help: faq.heatx.eu
  • You can charge the insoles with any 5v USB chargers, including powerbanks.
  • Do not charge unattended.
  • Do not excessively bend the insoles. This may cause damage to the heating elements. Be careful when installing the insoles in your shoes.
  • To clean your insoles, use a cloth and wipe them off. The insoles are not waterproof. Only air dry the insoles. Do not place on radiators or other hot surfaces.

CAUTION

  • Do not charge unattended. Disconnect charger after use.
  • Do not wash or soak insoles. The insoles contain a built in circuit. Water or other fluids could damage or short circuit the electronics.
  • If the insoles get soaked, make sure they are dry before turning on. Do NOT dry on high heat.
  • Keep out of high temperatures (above 60°C). The built-in polymer lithium battery may explode or be damged if exposed of high temperatures or fire.
  • May explode if disposed of in fire.
