Overview: The Type-C Casting Dongle, eShare D20, is a wireless video transmission device that supports up to 4K@30fps video with low latency. Product Usage Instructions

Panel

The product panel consists of the following components:

  • LED Indicator
  • Wireless Conference Button
  • Casting Button
  • USB-C Port

LED Indicator:

The LED indicator has the following states:

  • Marquee (Blue, counterclockwise): The dongle is preparing for casting screen
  • Solid on red + solid on green: The USB Type-C port of the laptop doesn’t support video transmission
  • Solid on dark blue + solid on green: The dongle is casting screen
  • Blinking 2 times/s (blue): The dongle is in the process of upgrading
  • Solid on red: The dongle is failed to be paired with the receiver or failed to upgrade firmware or the Type-C port of the source doesn’t support transmitting video

Using the Dongle:

After successfully pairing up with the receiver, follow these steps to use the dongle:

  1. To cast the screen, press the Casting Button once.
  2. To disconnect the screen casting, press the Casting Button once.
  3. To freeze the screen, press the Casting Button twice in 1 second during projecting process.
  4. To unfreeze the screen, press the Casting Button once in frozen status to exit and return to sharing status.
  5. To enter full-screen mode in multiple screens mode, hold the Casting Button for about 3 seconds.
  6. When pressing the Wireless Conference Button, it wirelessly connects USB devices on the receiver and the indicator below the button lights green.
  7. To connect to the receiver (e.g., eShare W80) for pairing up, or to connect to a source device with a Type-C port (the USB Type-C port should support video and audio transmission, such as a laptop) for casting screen, use the USB-C Port.

Introduction

Overview

This product is a USB type-C based wireless screen sharing dongle. It supports sharing contents from sources (e.g., laptop) to a display device wirelessly through our AV equipment (such as eShare W80, hereinafter referred to as receiver). It supports transmitting up to 4K@30fps video signal with audio, USB camera signal return and USB speakerphone signal return. The device also supports plugging and playing, and fully compatible with most operation systems, like Window7/10/11, Mac OS, Android OS.

Name Description









LED Indicator

| a.    Marquee (Blue, counterclockwise): The dongle is starting / The dongle is pairing up with the receiver (connected with a receiver) / WiFi is disconnected.

b.    Solid on Blue: The dongle is paired up with the receiver successfully / The dongle is preparing for casting screen (connected with a source computer) / The dongle is upgraded successfully.

c.    Solid on dark blue: The dongle is casting screen.

d.    When press the wireless conference button (Request to establish USB return channel), there are three LED indicator statuses:

1)         Solid on blue + solid on green (LED indicator below the wireless conference button): Press the wireless conference button in the status of preparing for casting screen;

2)         Solid on red + solid on green (LED indicator below the wireless conference button): The USB Type-c port of the laptop doesn’t support video transmission;

 | 3) Solid on dark blue + solid on green (LED indicator below the wireless conference button): Press the wireless conference button in the status of casting screen.

e. Blinking 2 times/s (blue): The dongle is in the process of upgrading.

f. Solid on red: The dongle is failed to be paired with the receiver (connected with a receiver) / The dongle is failed to upgrade firmware (connected with a receiver) / The Type-C port of the source doesn’t support transmitting video (connected with a source computer).

Casting Button

| After successfully paired up with the receiver, connect the dongle to a source (such as a laptop):

a.    Casting screen: Press the button once.

b.    Disconnecting the screen casting: Press the button once.

c.    Frozen the screen: Press the button twice in 1s in projecting process.

d.    Unfrozen the screen: Press the button once in frozen status to exit and back to sharing status.

e.    Enter full-screen mode: Hold the button for about 3s to enter full- screen mode in multiple screens mode.

Wireless

Conference Button

| When press wireless conference button, it is wireless connection USB devices on the receiver and the indicator below the button lights green.


USB-C Port

| USB type-C port. Connect to the receiver (such as eShare W80) for pairing up, or connect to a source device with Type-C port (the USB Type-C port should support video and audio transmission, such as laptop) for casting screen.

Application

  1. Pair the USB dongle with the receiver (take eShare W80 as an example).
    • Note: More detail operations about the receiver, please refer to its own user manual.AV-Access-eShare-D20-Type-C-Casting-Dongle-fig-2
    • Connect the USB dongle to the “Pairing” port of the receiver for pairing. Then “Pairing…” will appear on the display screen connected to the receiver. The dongle’s LED will be blinking white 2 times/s.
    • Once pairing is done, “Pairing Successful” will appear on the display screen. The dongle’s LED will be solid on white.
  2. Connect the dongle to a laptop.
    • After the pairing is successful, unplug the dongle from the receiver and connect it to the USB Type-C port of a laptop, it will start running and connecting to the receiver. the LED will still solid on white, and the dongle is ready for sharing.

  3. Casting screen: Press the button of the dongle once, the laptop’s screen will be cast to the display the receiver connected. The LED will light blue.
    • Enter full screen mode: When there are multiple screens (including screen projected through the dongle) shown on the sink display, hold press the dongle’s button for about 3 seconds, you can have your laptop’s screen (cast through the dongle) displayed in full screen.
    • b. Freeze/unfreeze the screen: In the process of casting screen, press the button twice in 1s, the cast screen will be frozen, and the audio cast through the dongle is also paused. A transparent pause icon will appear on the center of the cast screen. Press the button once again to exit the frozen status. The icon will disappear, and the cast screen will be synchronized with the source device to display.
    • Note: The freezing function doesn’t affect the source device.
    • Disconnect the casting: During the process of casting screen, press the button once to disconnect the casting.
    • Wirelessly connected with USB camera and USB speakerphone
    • When plug the dongle, the wireless conference feature is disabled, when press the wireless conference button, and a USB camera and a speakerphone are connected to the receiver, the signals from these USB devices will return to the source device through the dongle.
    • When the wireless conference button of another dongle is pressed, the USB host will be switched to this dongle, and its LED indicator below the button will light green. The LED indicator below the wireless conference button of the previous dongle will be off.
    • When USB camera and USB speakerphone signals are connected to the source through the dongle, they can be detected by the system and specific application in the name of the following:
    • USB Camera: Room Camera
    • USB Speakerphone: Room Audio

Warranty

Products are backed by a limited 1-year parts and labor warranty. For the following cases AV Access shall charge for the service(s) claimed for the product if the product is still remediable and the warranty card becomes unenforceable or inapplicable.

  1. The original serial number (specified by AV Access) labeled on the product has been removed, erased, replaced, defaced or is illegible.
  2. The warranty has expired.
  3. The defects are caused by the fact that the product is repaired, dismantled or altered by anyone that is not from an AV Access authorized service partner. The defects are caused by the fact that the product is used or handled improperly, roughly or not as instructed in the applicable User Guide.
  4. The defects are caused by any force majeure including but not limited to accidents, fire, earthquake, lightning, tsunami and war.
  5. The service, configuration and gifts promised by salesman only but not covered by normal contract.
  6. AV Access preserves the right for interpretation of these cases above and to make changes to them at any time without notice.
