Product Information
The PanelMax Sectional Door Openers are a type of door opener designed for sectional doors. They come with various user operating controls and features, including close and open indicators, a stop/set button, mode and status indicators, remote status indicator, and adjustment indicator. The opener can be manually disengaged and engaged, and it supports remote control operation with up to 64 programmed remotes. The product also offers the ability to remotely code a pre-coded remote control and change thebattery. Additionally, it is compatible with Smart Phone Control, allowing operation of the door through a smartphone app connected to a Smart Hub. The product comes with safety precautions and troubleshooting instructions.
Product Usage Instructions
Manual Door Operation:
To disengage the opener:
- Ensure the door is closed.
- Pull the door towards you until you hear a click.
CAUTION: When the opener is manually disengaged, the door is no longer locked. To lock the door manually, re-engage the opener after the door is closed.
To engage the opener:
- Pull the door away from you until you hear a click.
CAUTION: Do not use the string handle as a mechanism to open the door. Failure to comply may cause serious injury.
Coding a Remote Control:
Note: These steps are for programming a remote control into the opener’s memory.
- Switch on the power and remove the controls cover.
- Press the button on the remote repeatedly until the remote LED lights up.
- Hold the button on the remote for 3 seconds, then release.
- The opener will flash and beep.
- Press the button on the remote to test.
Remotely Coding a Remote Control:
Note: These steps are for duplicating a pre-coded remote control using another pre-coded remote control.
- Take a pre-coded remote and press the button you want to duplicate.
- Use a pen to press the middle button through the coding hole.
- The opener will flash and beep.
- Take the new remote.
- Hold the button on the new remote for 3 seconds, then release.
- The opener will stop flashing and beeping.
- Press the button on the new remote to test.
Changing a Battery:
Note: The battery type is 1 x CR2032.
- Check the light status table to determine if the battery needs to be replaced.
- Use a screwdriver to remove the screw and open the battery compartment.
- Use a non-metallic object to push out the old battery.
- Dispose of the old battery properly.
- Insert a new CR2032 battery into the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment and secure it with the screw.
WARNING: The battery is hazardous and must be kept out of reach of children. If swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
Smart Phone Control:
Note: Smart Phone Control requires a Smart Hub.
Before you start:
- Download the B&D App to your smartphone.
- Ensure limits are set prior to connecting to WiFi.
- Make sure the home WiFi router is within range of the opener.
- Connect the Smart Hub to power.
- Go to phone settings, then WiFi, and select (B&D000000).
- Open the B&D App and click “START”.
- Set up a new Smart Hub in the app.
- Ensure the WiFi network is set to (B&D000000).
- Follow the instructions in the app to complete the setup.
- Test the opener through the B&D App after setup completion.

MANUAL DOOR OPERATION
TO DISENGAGE THE OPENER
It is recommended to disengage the door with tip the door in the closed position.
CAUTION: When the opener is manually disengaged, the door is no longer locked. To lock the door manually, re-engage the opener after the door is closed.
TO ENGAGE THE OPENER
CAUTION: Do not use the str ing handle as a mechanism to open the door. Failure to comply may cause ser ious injury.
CODING A REMOTE CONTROL
The opener can only be operated from remote controllers that have been programmed into its memory. Up to 64 remotes can be programmed.
REMOTELY CODING A REMOTE CONTROL
Remotely coding works when you have a pre-coded remote control and are in range of the opener.
CHANGING A BATTERY
Battery Type: 1 x CR2032.
WARNING!: The battery is hazardous and must be kept out of reach of children. The battery can cause severe of fatal injuries within 2 hours or less if swallowed or placed inside any par t of the body. If you suspect the battery has be swallowed or placed inside any par t of the body, SEEK IMMEDIATE medical attention.
SMART PHONE CONTROL
(Requires Smart Hub)
The Smart Phone Control works via your home’s WiFi network. Initial set up involves linking your phone app and smart hub to your home network.
WARNING!: This device allows for operation of the door when not in line- of-sight of the door and opener. The door may operate unexpectedly, therefore do not allow anything to stay in or near the path of the door.
BEFORE YOU START
TROUBLESHOOTING
Main Light = Service / Warning Indicator:
Requirements for a service and user warnings are indicated after operation by
the main light repeatable flashing OFF a number of times followed by a pause.
The below table identifies the issues and remedies
Issue
- Normal operation (door is fully open)
- PE is precenting door from moving
- Wireless Auto-Lock battery is low
- Wireless PE battery is low
- Wireless Auto-Lock is not unlocked and preventing door moving
- Maintenance is due after pre-set number of cycles
- Standby battery is faulty
- Door was obstructed
- Motor overloaded or stalled
Remedy
- Clear away any obstructions. Test Door. If unable to move the door and suspect beam is faulty, enter Safety Beam Emergency Close by pressing and holding a pre-coded transmitter button until the door closes.
- Change Auto-lock battery
- Change PE Battery
- Check Auto-Lock, test by pressing emergency release button on the lock and the test door operation.
- Contact dealer to arrange service
- Contact 1300 769 850 within Australia for assistance
- Clear away any obstructions and test door opens/closes correctly. (if the door is damaged, contact a door professional)
- Contact dealer to arrange a door service
