NUUO Thermal Plugin 3rd Party Software
Product Information
The NUUO Thermal Plugin is a 3rd party software that can be installed and set up on the NUUO Mainconsole. It allows users to integrate thermal imaging cameras and access their metadata transactions. The plugin provides various features such as setting up a web service port, configuring metadata sources, defining display options, and enabling SmartGuard settings for event detection.
Product Usage Instructions
Plugin Install Folder:
- Copy the folder named ‘MetadataModelNuThermal’ including the ‘MetadataModelNuThermal.dll’ file to the Mainconsole’s PluginPack folder.
- Make sure that the versions of Mainconsole and NuThermal Plugin (w32 or x64) match.
3rd Party Software Installation & Setup:
- Set the username and password for login. The default is ‘admin’ with a blank password.
- Set the web service port. The default is 80, but it can be changed to any desired port (e.g., 8080).
- To verify the installation of the 3rd party software, open Chrome or any other browser and enter the following URL:
http://10.0.4.3:8080/core.cgi command=get_camera_list
. Enter the account password (default is ‘admin’ with a blank password) to view the response text of the 3rd party software.
Set NuThermal Plugin:
- In Metadata Application/Plug-in, locate and select NuThermal and use the POS license.
- Set the Metadata Plugin Source:
- Enter the IP address of the PC where the 3rd party software is installed (e.g., 10.0.4.3) as the Server IP.
- Specify the web port of the 3rd party software as the Server HTTP Port (e.g., 8080).
- Enter the username and password for the 3rd party software. The default is ‘admin’ with a blank password, but it can be reset in the software itself.
- Configure the Metadata Node:
- To reduce the load on the metadata database, it is recommended to disable recording metadata transactions. Use SmartGuard’s metadata user-defined events to efficiently find events with high temperature.
- If playback of NuThermal Metadata Transaction is required, select ‘Enable Record Metadata Transaction’.
- Select ‘Display on Video Preview/Last for 1 second’ to only display the latest Thermal Transaction.
- Set the Tag Filter of NuThermal (can be downloaded from NUUO’s official website).
- Assign associated cameras to the plugin and configure display region definition.
- Click on NuThermal and press the ‘Configure’ button to complete the settings.
SmartGuard Setting:
- Under NuThermal, select ‘User Defined Event’.
- In Advanced settings, set the Alert Condition to ‘Keyword as exceed_ulimit = 1’ (default value).
- Configure the corresponding SmartGuard Action.
- Start SmartGuard to observe triggered events when the temperature is too high.
- Access the SmartGuard Metadata Event Log from the Log Viewer.
Plugin Install Folder
Copy the folder of ‘MetadataModelNuThermal includes the
MetadataModelNuThermal.dll file to the Mainconsole’s PluginPack folder.

Because NuThermal’s metadata will update by per second, the amount of metadata will be large (15MB / per ch-per day), so in order to reduce the load on the metadata database, recommended to disable record metadata transactions ; If you want to find events which with high temperature, you can use SmartGuard’s metadata user-defined events, which will be more efficient to use (compare with recording all metadata transactions and then using metadata search is not very efficient)
-
Supplementary
Note: If Playback NuThermal Metadata Transaction is required in the site, then you can only select Enable Record Metadata Transaction -
Select Display on Video Preview / Last for 1 second, only the latest Thermal Transaction will be displayed
-
Set the Tag Filter of NuThermal; It can also be downloaded from the NUUO official website: https://www.nuuo.com/DownloadDetail.php?id=0159
-

-
Select Display Region Definition
-
In this example, click “NuThermal”, then press Button Configure
Set Metadata Channel
- Camera IP: It is the IP address of Thermal Camera
- Temperature Upper Limit: If the detected temperature exceeds this temperature, the default Metadata Transaction will include the string “exceed_ulimit = 1”; this string can be changed, see below for details.
- Exceed Upper Limit Keyword: The default value is “exceed_ulimit = 1”, when the Temperature Upper Limit is exceeded, it will appear in Metadata Transaction
- Temperature Scale: You can choose the temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit. The Temperature Upper Limit should be adjusted by the user.
After completing the above settings, you can see Metadata Transaction on the Associated Camera.
