Operating Instructions
TWO STAGE TWO BUTTON CONTROL
- To Light the Pilot (‘Star’ button):
- Confirm that the gas supply is turned on.
- Push in the ‘Star’ button and hold for 10-20 seconds to allow gas flow.
- Light the pilot with a gas lighter / match. DO NOT USE A CANDLE TO LIGHT THE PILOT LIGHT.
- Keep the button depressed for 30 seconds after the pilot lights.
- Release the ‘Star’ button and the pilot should stay alight.
- Note: In case of an interruption in the gas line during the initial ignition, it may be necessary to repeat the start-up sequence multiple times.
- To Start the Fire:
- The pilot should be alight.
- The ‘Star’ button now becomes the On / Off.
- On – Push the ‘Star’ button so that it pops out. A large flame icon will be displayed in the corresponding window.
- Off – Depress the ‘Star’ button. A star icon will be displayed in the corresponding window.
- The High / Low Flame (‘Flame’ button):
- Low – Depress the ‘Flame’ button. A small flame icon will be displayed in the corresponding window.
- High – Push the ‘Flame’ button so that it pops out. A large flame icon will be displayed in the corresponding window.
- Note: When lighting the burner for the first time in the day, make sure the ‘Flame’ button is popped out. This will help the main burner to light quickly and smoothly.
- To Turn the Fire Off:
- To shut off, depress the ‘Star’ button to keep only the pilot alight (recommended for ease of ignition and minimal gas usage).
- The Safety Shut-Off:
- If the pilot is interrupted or fails to ignite, the Two Stage Two Button control will automatically shut down.
- During the summer, you have the option to extinguish the pilot light, and the valve will automatically close for safety.
Note: Your fireplace should be serviced annually by Living Flame or a registered service agent.
