**LivingFlame 885 Variable Remote Control

**

Powering the Remote

1. Insert 3x AAA batteries into the remote control.
2. Ensure the batteries are correctly placed, following the polarity markings.
3. Close the battery compartment securely.

Turning On the Remote

1. Locate the ON / OFF key on the remote.
2. Press the ON / OFF key.
3. The remote display will show all active icons on the screen.
4. A single beep from the remote will confirm the reception of the command.

Turning Off the Remote

1. Locate the ON / OFF key on the remote.
2. Press the ON / OFF key.
3. The remote LCD display will only show the room temperature.
4. A single beep from the remote will confirm the reception of the command.

Temperature Mode Display

1. Ensure the remote is in the OFF position.
2. Press the Thermostat key (thermometer icon) together with the Mode key (circle icon). This will toggle between Farenheit or Celcius.
   

Manual Flame Control (6 Levels)

1. Turn on the Remote.
2. Press the mode key until the flame icon appears on the bottom left-hand corner of the LCD screen.
3. To decrease the flame height, press the down arrow key once. Repeat until the flame is turned off.
4. To increase the flame height, press the up arrow key. Each press will raise the flame level.
5. If the system is on but the flame is off, pressing the up arrow key will turn the flame on in the high position.
6. A single beep will confirm the reception of the command.
   

Room Thermostat Function

1. Turn on the remote.
2. Activate the room thermostat function by pressing the thermostat key.
3. The LCD display on the remote will change to indicate that the room thermostat is on.
4. The current set temperature will be displayed prominently.
5. Adjust the set temperature by pressing the up or down arrow keys until the desired temperature is shown on the LCD screen.
   Note : The remote’s placement determines where the temperature is measured from.
   

Smart Thermostat Function

1. Turn on the Remote.
2. Press the Thermostat key until the word “SMART” appears to the right of the temperature icon on the top left of the LCD screen.
3. Adjust the set temperature by pressing the up or down arrow keys until the desired set point temperature is displayed on the LCD screen of the remote.
4. The Smart thermostat function will automatically adjust the flame height based on the difference between the set point temperature and the actual room temperature.
5. As the room temperature approaches the set point, the Smart function will modulate the flame down for optimal comfort.
   Note : The remote’s placement determines where the temperature is measured from. Flames automatically reduce when approaching the desired fire temperature setting.
