Setup Hardware

Installing the Battery
The battery compartment is located at the base. To access it, turn the base cover counterclockwise (As marked with directional arrow). Install 3 AA batteries (Batteries not included) and then close the base cover.

Mounting Your Mobile Phone
The selfie mount is equipped with an auto-tension phone mount. Open it up with your hand and slide your phone in. The mount will then grip your phone securely. The mount can accommodate a phone up to 11 ?mm/4 ½” wide. Make sure the phone is firmly held in place and the grip mount is not unintentionally pressing your phone’s side button(s).

Setting the Orientation
You can set the mount to use either portrait or landscape mode.
To change the orientation, rotate the fastener knob in the back counterclockwise until the mount can be rotated freely. Rotate the phone mount until the you have the angle you want. Then, lock the position by rotating the fastener knob clockwise. The mount can be tilted backwards and forwards for more viewing angles.

Positioning the Mount
The product should be use in a flat and even surface. The surrounding area should be clear of any obstacles that can interfere with the mount’s rotation. There is a built-in camera screw at the base of the product to attach to a tripod (Not included).

Powering On the Unit
Press and hold the Power button to turn on the product. The LED indicator light on the right side should start blinking red.

Setup App

Download the App (iOS and Android)
Scan the QR code to access to download link (iOS and Android). The QR code is printed both in this instruction manual and on the base of the product. Download and install the app on your mobile phone.

Connecting the Device

1. Turn on the product by pressing and holding the power button. The red LED indicator on the right side should start blinking.
2. Turn on your phone’s Bluetooth.
3. Launch the “Apai Genie” app on your phone and follow the setup steps on the app. There is no need to manually connect the product via Bluetooth.
4. The Bluetooth icon on the top of the “Apai Genie” app should change to become blue; this indicates a successful pairing. The red LED indicator light on the right of the device should change from a blinking red to a solid red as well.
5. The green LED indicator light on the left will turn on when capturing photos and videos.

Shooting Videos and Photos

Selecting the Mode
Select the tracking mode (Facial and Object Tracking) with the selection icon at the top of the app screen. Once the face I object is locked down and the tracking activated, move in a smooth and steady motion for the camera mount to follow; avoid sudden movement for a smooth tracking and recording.

Facial Tracking Mode
Pose and hold still for 3 seconds. The app will automatically capture the photo/ video. A 3-second timer will be shown on the app screen to indicate the countdown.
There is also a Pair’s mode where the device can track 2 people at once. Simply pose closely together for 3 seconds and the app will automatically capture the photo/video.

Object Tracking Mode
Double tap on the screen to lock onto the object you want to track, then hold still for 3 seconds to take photo/ video. A 3-second timer will be shown on the app screen to indicate the countdown.

Other Functions
Always keep the app up to date! Ensure the latest version of the app is installed for the latest functions including beauty filters, skin tone adjustment, light control, filters, flash, sharpness enhancement, auto correction, and facial feature adjustment.

Precautions and Warnings

• The batteries should be removed if you are not using the product for long period of time.
• Always ensure the mount and phone are firmly fastened before using.
• Always ensure the mount and phone can rotate freely before using. Do not modify or overload the mount with other video / photo equipment to prevent damage to the motor.
  Mount is not waterproof, keep away from liquids.
