IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS . RETAIN FOR THE FUTURE USE

  • Read all instructions carefully
  • For Household Use only. Not intended for commercial use.
  • Only for use indoors.
  • Before plugging into mains socket, check whether supply line voltage and current rating are in compliance with the rated electrical parameters shown on the rating label.
  • To prevent damage to the mains or controller cord, do not let it pass over sharp corners, edges or become trapped in the bed frame.
  • To prevent against the risk of electric shock, do not submerge any part of this appliance in water, unless advised in this manual.
  • If any cord is damaged, do not use. Check before each use!
  • If any cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cord or assembly available from the manufacturer or its service agent.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children shall not play with this appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised

Not to be used by very young children (0-3 years)

The appliance can be used by children older than 3 years and younger than 8 years under supervision and with the control always set to minimum temperature value.
Do not insert pins, needles, safety pins or other sharp items on the blanket.

Do not use folded or rucked. This will cause the blanket to overheat.

  • For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current of 30mA is advisable to be used with this product.
  • The blanket must not be located immediately below a socket-outlet
  • Use as an under-blanket only.
  • For all night use, use the lowest temperature setting only and remember to turn off when not required.
  • Tie electric blanket securely with the bed ties.
  • Always check the product for transit damage before operation. If damaged, DO NOT USE!
  • Turn off the blanket and disconnect the power cord when not in use.
  • This appliance is not intended for medical use in a hospital.
  • When storing the electric blanket, allow to cool down before folding.
  • Do not leave controllers on blanket during use.
  • Do not dry clean.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not bleach or use harsh chemicals or cleaning fluids as they may  damage the internal wiring.
  • Do not tumble dry.

WARNING

  • Keep the controller/s away from moisture or windows.
  • Keep all dogs, cats and other pets away from the blanket.
  • Make sure the electric blanket and connectors are completely dry after washing and before switching on. We recommend leaving the electric blanket for a further 24 hours once dry before using. When drying, dry on a washing line. Even though the connectors are washable and waterproof, please make sure that the electrical connectors are also upside down to allow any excess moisture to drain from the connector.
  • Examine the blanket frequently for signs of wear or damage. If there are such signs the blanket has been misused or does not work then do not use.
  • his appliance must not be used by persons insensitive to heat and other very vulnerable persons who are unable to react to overheating.
  • Children under 3 years of age are not to use this appliance due to their inability to react to overheating.
  • If this under-blanket is likely to be used for an extended period, for instance by the user falling asleep, controls should be adjusted to LOW setting which is recommended for continuous use. If the blanket is slept on with the controls set to a higher temperature the user may suffer skin burns or heat stoke.
  •  Ensure all cords and ties cannot cause a risk of entanglement, strangulation, tripping or treading. The user must ensure that excessive ties and electric cords be arranged in a safe way.

DO NOT

  • Do not use for any purposes other than the appliances intended use.
  • Do not leave the controller/s on the blanket when in use. This will overheat the controller and blow the safety fuse.
  • Do not crease the electric blanket by placing items on top of it during storage
  • Do not use if wet
  • Do not use on an adjustable bed.
  • Do not wash or wet the controller. Before washing blanket remember to remove controller/s.
  • Do not use in vehicles.
  • Do not use near combustible items, such as gasoline, paint, flammable liquids, clothes, furniture or curtains etc.
  • Do not use in bathrooms or in the vicinity of a bathtub, shower, or near a washbasin, swimming pool etc.
  • Do not use near water.
  • Do not lie directly onto the electric under-blanket.
  •  Do not use if liquid has been spilt onto the blanket or if damp
  •  Do not attempt to service this electric blanket.
  • Do not use if the blanket or blanket cord has been damaged as this may lead to overheating, fire or personal injury.

DO NOT

  • Do not trap of fold cords between the bed slats, mattress, springs or against walls, footboards or bed frame as this may cause damage to the cord. Check before each use.
  • Do not use more than one heat source on the bed at the same time, such additional electric blankets, mattress pads, heating pads, hot-water bottles etc.

DO NOT USE ELECTRIC UNDER BLANKETS on any form of MEMORY FOAM mattresses, protectors or mattress toppers, GEL mattresses or toppers, WATERPROOF mattress protectors/sheets etc.
The heating elements may cause damage to these products.
DO NOT USE on mattresses or toppers that regulate your body temperature.
DO NOT USE with any materials that are sensitive to heat, which may cause them to melt, disfigure or scorch the surface.

LOCATION OF CONTROLS

Power Cord
Must be connected to a 220-240v-50Hz power supply before use.

Detachable Controller
Operate the heating element via the detachable controller. Choose between 3 heat settings for maximum comfort.

Bed Tie Loop
Allows users to tie the blanket to the mattress securely.

Semi-Flexible Heating Element
The subtle heating element keeps the blanket warm without compromising on comfort.

Bed Ties
Allows users to tie the blanket to the mattress securely.

Power Cord Connector Socket
When connected to the Power Cord, this supplies power to the heating elements and detachable controllers.

OPERATION

ADVICE
For additional protection, it is recommended that a Residual Current Device (RCD) is installed with a rated  residual operating current of 30mA .

HOW TO FIT THE ELECTRIC BLANKET

  1. Place the Electric Blanket on the mattress, leaving plenty of room for pillows at the head end.
  2. Ensure that the Controllers and Power cord are under the blanket at the head end.
  3. Ensure the heating element wires do not extend under the pillows or hang over the sides.
  4. Remove the tags from the bed ties.
  5. Pass the bed tie nearest the head end under the corresponding corner of the mattress and up through the bed tie loop at the head end, back under the other corner of the mattress and up through the side loop.
  6. Repeat process 5 for the bed tie string at the foot end of the bed.
  7. Pass the bed tie string at the Centre  of the blanket underneath the mattress and through the opposite bed tie loop.
  8. The blanket should now be firmly anchored to the mattress.

before use with normal bedding, the blanket may need up to 30 minutes of preheating on the highest setting. The Control knob has 3 heat settings that allow easy adjustment of the temperature. The heat settings work as follows.

  • 0-0ff
  • 1 Low – This setting is for continuous use
  • Medium
  • High

Note During first use, you may notice a slight odor coming from the product. This is due to slight residues during production and is perfectly normal and harmless. This will quickly disappear.

PRE-HEATING THE BED

  1. Turn the Control Knob to 3 to activate the High setting.
  2. Leave the blanket to heat the bed for 1 hour prior to going to bed.
  3. Either turn the Control knob down to a lower setting once going to bed, to maintain a warm bed throughout the night or simply turn the Control knob to Oto turn the heating element ‘Off’.

Note On particularly cold nights during winter, it is recommended that the bed is pre-heated for 3 hours prior to going to bed.

CLEANING AND CARE

Taking Care of your electric blanket is safe and easy as long as the following steps are taken.

DO NOT

  • Do Not dry clean the blanket or mattress pad. Dry cleaning solvents will damage the wiring.
  • Do Not use bleach or cleaning fluids.
  • Do Not use a wringer.
  • Do Not iron the blanket or mattress pad.
  • Do Not switch the heating element ‘on’ until the blanket and mattress pad is completely dry.
  • Do Not use Mothballs or sprays of any kind.

CAUTION
When washing the electric blanket, Ensure that you follow the instructions otherwise the blanket may    shrink, which can cause overheating, fire hazards and/or personal injury during use.

MACHINE WASHING
The Electric Blanket should be machine washed on a wool programmer.

CAUTION
Ensure that the power cord and cables are removed before washing the blanket.

  1. Remove the Power Cord and Controllers by lifting the tab from the Power Cord Connector Socket and pulling the Power Cord from the socket.
  2.  Enclose the Power Cord Connector Socket in a small wash bag, to protect it from water damage during washing.
  3. Fold the Electric Blanket, ensuring that the small wash bag is inside the fold.
  4. Place the folded Electric Blanket inside a large washing bag (available at most supermarkets) before washing.
  5. This will help to keep the Electric Blanket and Power Cord Connector Socket from being damaged during washing.
    Note Spin Dry on a Wool Programmer Only.

DO NOT

  1. Pre-soak the blanket for 15 minutes in a mild soap and lukewarm solution.
  2. Ensure that the water temperature is less than 30°C.
  3. Wash in mild soap and lukewarm water on the delicate or gentle cycle for 2mins.
  4. Rinse in lukewarm water.
  5.  Spin in slow washing machine then gently stretch the blanket to its original size.

HAND WASHING

  1. Fold and pre-soak the blanket for 15 minutes in a mild soap and lukewarm solution.
  2. Ensure that the water temperature is less than 30°C.
  3. Gently squeeze the soap suds through for a few minutes.
  4. Rinse in lukewarm water.

DRYING

  1. Gently stretch the blanket to its original size.
  2. Allow to drip dry over a clothes line.

DO NOT
Do Not use clothespins, pegs or clips of any kind.

DO NOT
Do Not use the electric blanket until it is completely dry. We recommend that once the blanket is dry, leave    it for another 24 hours before re-use.

STORAGE
Do not store above or below 5°C – 23°C. Failure to comply could result in damage to the product. When not in use, store as follows.

  1. When storing the blanket, allow it to cool down before folding.
  2. Do not crease the blanket by placing items on top of it during storage.
  3. Roll and fold up the blanket and store in the packaging supplied, or a suitable bag or box to prevent crushing. Avoid pressing sharp creases into the blanket when folding.
  4. Do not use mothballs or sprays of any kind during storage.
  5. Always keep the blanket dry during storage.

FITING A NEW UK PLUG

Your appliance operates on 220-240V~50Hz AC Mains and comes fitted with a 3-pin BSI Approved plug so that it is ready for use for the UK or Eire market. If for any reason you need to fit a new plug, the flexible mains lead must be connected as shown below.

IMPORTANT .The wires in the mains lead are closured  in accordance with the following code.

BLUE NEUTRAL (N) BROWN. LIVE (L) As the coolers of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the clouded  markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows

The BLUE wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter “N” or closured  BLACK. The BROWN wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter “L” or clouded  RED.

DO NOT CONNECT EITHER WIRE ‘L’ OR ‘N’ TO THE EARTH TERMINAL OF A 3-PIN PLUG

Always ensure that the Mains Cord is located into the Plug through the Cord Guard or Cable Clamp, and that the Cord Guard screws are tightened to clamp the Cord (outer sheath and inner closured wires) in position in the Plug. Make sure the Plug top is also fitted securely.

The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the supply cord is damaged, the appliance should be scrapped. This appliance must be protected by a 3 Amp fuse in a 13 Amp type (BS1363) plug Should you need to replace the fuse, use only an ASTA approved BS1362 fuse.
