Assembly Instructions
-
Drill mounting holes
Drill all holes according to product dimensions. -
Connect the touchpad and back unit
1. Remove one battery from the back unit and place the touchpad on the front of the cabinet.
2. Guide the connection cable through the round mounting hole (Ø optimum 18 mm).
3. Carefully slide the cable into the socket in the back of the back unit.
Note: Make sure that the two small guide rails are visible.
-
Screw the back unit to the touchpad
-
Place the back unit on the inside of the cabinet. The ribbon cable must not be pinched during installation.
-
Insert the 2 threaded screws (M4 x 29.5) through the corresponding holes in the back unit and screw it to the touchpad carefully.
Note: The screws (M4 x 29.5)1 have been developed for fronts from 17 to 30 mm. Mounting on thinner fronts requires shorter M4 screws. If longer screws than recommended are used, damage to the touchpad may result. Failure to follow this instruction will void the manufacturer‘s warranty. -
If the fronts are thinner than 2.8 mm (e.g. steel doors), wood or HPL adapter plates or washers1 with an inner diameter of at least 6.8 mm can compensate for the distance between touchpad and the back unit. After the touchpad has been plugged in, the washers are plugged from the inside onto the two lugs (with an M4 internal thread).
-
Fix the back unit with the threaded screw (M4 x 29.5) to the touchpad.
-
-
Fix strike plate
- Place the strike plate on the inside of the cabinet.
- Fix it with the three wood screws (4.4 x 20).
-
Insert batteries
- Insert the four AA batteries.
- Close the battery case and fix the housing cover with the screw (3 x 8).
Note: Make sure the battery cover is closed. Never close the cabinet door with the battery cover on the lock open. Closing the cabinet door may cause batteries to come loose. The lock will no longer be operable.
-
Finish assembly
- If necessary, adjust the back unit and strike plate until the door can be closed without any problems and the lock closes smoothly.
- Start the configuration.
Emergency Power Supply
If the internal batteries of the TwinPad do not have sufficient voltage, the lock can be connected to an external power supply via the mini-USB connector:
- Connect the USB cable to the PowerBank, notebook, or power supply unit.
- Connect the USB cable to the touchpad.
The lock is now supplied with power and can be operated as usual. It is recommended to replace the batteries immediately.
