INTERMATIC ET9500 1-Circuit Electronic Control
Product Information
- The BEMS INTERFACE BOX (Model ET9500) is a gateway device used for connecting and controlling various electrical devices in a building energy management system (BEMS). It is designed for indoor and outdoor use and comes in a lockable metal enclosure with a Type 3R rating. The box has an input voltage range of 120-277 VAC and operates at a frequency of 50/60 Hz. It consumes a maximum power of 3 W and weighs approximately 11.8 lbs.
- The ET9500 BEMS INTERFACE BOX is equipped with multiple knockout options for AC input and gateway connections. It supports wire sizes ranging from AWG #18 to #8. The box also features an ethernet or RS 485 connection for easy integration into the BEMS network.
- The product is compliant with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations for electromagnetic interference.
Product Usage Instructions
- Install the mounting brackets to the enclosure following the instructions provided with the brackets.
- Securely mount the enclosure in the desired location using appropriate hardware capable of supporting the weight of the ET9500.
- Ensure that the unit is mounted vertically (upright) and there is enough space for the enclosure door to fully swing open.
- Remove the dead front cover and hardware from the ET9500, and retain them for later use.
- Select and remove the appropriate knockout(s) on the enclosure for AC input and gateway connections.
- Connect the wires to the proper terminals on the gatewaymodule, ensuring that no insulation is crimped in the terminal.
- Connect the ground wire to the ground screw and firmly tighten, making sure no insulation is crimped in the terminal.
- Replace the dead front cover and secure it with the screws removed earlier.
- Connect the ethernet or RS 485 cable to the Gateway module. Refer to the included Quick Start Guide for connection guidance.

- Disconnect power at the circuit breaker(s) or disconnect switch(es) before installing or servicing.
- Installation and/or wiring must be in accordance with national and local electrical code requirements.
- Use #18-#8 AWG wires, rated at least 90°C – COPPER conductors ONLY.
- For outdoor locations or wet locations (rain-tight), conduit hubs that comply with requirements of the UL514B (standard for fitting conduit andoutlet boxes) are to be used.
- KEEP DOOR CLOSED AT ALL TIMES when not servicing.
- Replace dead front after servicing or installation.

Description
This document explains the setup and configuration of the Intermatic model
ET9500 BEMS INTERFACE BOX (Gateway). The ET9500 allows for remote control (via
computer application) of the circuits on the ET90000 series time switches
through various forms of communication. The communication protocols are the
following: BACnet®, Modbus, and Metasys® N2.
Follow these instructions to complete the installation of the ET9500 BEMS
INTERFACE BOX (Gateway).

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation of this device
is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause

Mounting and Installation

Install mounting brackets to enclosure. (See instruction sheet included within included brackets)

Securely mount enclosure to desired location using hardware capable of supporting the ET9500.
Note : Unit must be mounted vertically (upright) on a surface or structure capable of supporting the unit. Space must be provided for the enclosure door to fully swing open. -
Remove and retain dead front and hardware from the ET9500.

Choose and remove the selected knockout(s) for AC input and gateway connections from enclosure.
Note : There are ½ inch and ¾ inch knockouts available. If a ¾ inch knockout is needed, remove the ½ inch knockout first and the ¾ inch outer ring. Smooth edge if necessary. -
Use appropriately rated fittings for installation.

Strip supply wires to ½”.

Connect wires to proper terminals on the gateway and firmly tighten making sure no insulation is crimped in terminal.

Connect ground wire to ground screw and firmly tighten making sure no insulation is crimped in terminal.

Replace dead front and secure with screws removed earlier.

Connect ethernet or RS 485 cable to the Gateway module. See included Quick Start Guide for connection guidance.

LIMITED THREE-YEAR WARRANTY
If within the warranty period specified, this product fails due to a defect in
material or workmanship, Intermatic Incorporated will repair or replace it, at
its sole option, free of charge. This warranty is extended to the original
purchaser only and is not transferable. This warranty does not apply to: (a)
damage to units caused by accident, dropping or abuse in handling, acts of God
or any negligent use; (b) units which have been subject to unauthorized
repair, opened, taken apart or otherwise modified; (c) units not used in
accordance with instructions; (d) damages exceeding the cost of the product;
(e) sealed lamps and/or lamp bulbs, LED’s and batteries; (f) the finish on any
portion of the product, such as surface and/or weathering, as this is
considered normal wear and tear; (g) transit damage, initial installation
costs, removal costs, or reinstallation costs.
