Overview

NovoStage is software designed for businesses or schools with conference rooms that feature a windows PC connected to a display or projector. The software allows you to create a virtual a meeting (or “NovoStage session”) on the PC (or “host computer”) where up to 4 other devices connected to the same network can share their screens. The host can then manage the shared screens and interact with the presenters. Remote participants on a different network can also join the meeting via video-conferencing software installed in the host computer.

The following methods are available for devices to join a NovoStage session:

  • For PC And Mobile Device Users: Install the NovoConnect software on their devices.
    NOTE 1 : Contact your local Delta service center to download the NovoConnect software.
    NOTE 2 : Platforms supported by the NovoConnect software include Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, Ubuntu, iOS, and Android.

  • For iPhone, iPad, And Mac Users: Use the AirPlay screen mirroring technology native to your device.
    NOTE: NovoStage supports up to 2 devices mirroring screens via AirPlay simultaneously.

  • For Users With A LauncherPlus Device: Plug a LauncherPlus to the USB port of your devices to join the session.
    NOTE: LauncherPlus is a Novo-series product. Contact your local Delta service center for more information about LauncherPlus.

Downloading NovoStage

Download NovoStage from www.novoconnect.eu and install the software to the host computer.

Activating NovoStage

NovoStage provides a free one-month trial for initial use. When the free trial ends, you will need to purchase a license to continue to use the software.

NOTE: Contact your local Delta service center to purchase a license.

To activate the license:

  1. Click Activate my license on the NovoStage main screen.

  2. Enter the 16-digit code in the license code field.

  3. Click Activate.

  4. A confirmation message will appear indicating that the full version has been successfully activated. Click OK to start using NovoStage. Go to Starting a NovoStage Session for instructions on using NovoStage.

Starting a NovoStage Session

After NovoStage has been installed to a Windows PC (the host computer), follow the steps below to begin a NovoStage session:

  1. Connect the host computer to a display or projector using an HDMI, DP, or VGA cable.
    NOTE: As the VGA interface does not transfer sound, a 3.5” audio cable needs to be connected between the audio output jack of the host computer and the audio input jack of the display/projector. If the display/projector does not have built-in speakers, connect the audio output jack of the host computer to external speakers.

  2. Connect the host computer to a local network.

  3. Launch NovoStage on the host computer. The NovoStage main screen will appear.

The main screen will feature the information users will need to join a NovoStage session. Go to The NovoStage Main Screen for more on the session- related information and control features on the main screen.

Starting a NovoStage Session

NOTE: The hardware setup is for reference only.

The NovoStage Main Screen

Once NovoStage is launched on the host computer the main screen will appear. The main screen will display the following items:

compatible software and Novo-series products.
2| Room Name| Displays the default name of the NovoStage session for users to join and present via the NovoConnect software or AirPlay.

NOTE: The room name is editable. Go to The Main Sett i ngs

Menu for more information about how to change the room name.

3| IP Address (LAN)| Displays the IP address of the host computer for users in the same LAN network to connect to via the NovoConnect software or AirPlay and join the session.
4| IP Address (Wi-Fi)| Displays the IP address of the host computer for users in the same Wi-Fi network to connect to via the NovoConnect software or AirPlay and join the session.
5| AirPlay/PIN Code| Displays the optional PIN code for users to join the NovoStage session.
6| Meeting ID| Displays the meeting ID of the NovoStage session for users to join via the NovoConnect software or AirPlay and present. The ID is a 6-digit number that is randomly generated every time a new session is started.
7| QR Code
| Displays a quick-login QR code that users can scan to join the NovoStage session.

NOTE: The QR code can only be used by those who are joining the NovoStage session via the NovoConnect software.

8| Help| Accesses instructions on how to join a NovoStage session via a PC, mobile device, or AirPlay. Go to Joining a NovoStage for more information about how to join a NovoStage session.
9| Settings| Accesses the NovoStage settings menu. Go to The Main Settings Menu for more information.
NOTE: The settings button is only available when no device is connected to the host computer.

  • These items are disabled by default. Go to Screen-Cast Configuration for instructions on how to enable the AirPlay/PIN code. Go to Home Screen Configurations for instructions on how to enable the QR code.
Attendee(s) List

Once a device has joined to the NovoStage session, an attendee(s) list will automatically appear at the bottom of the NovoStage main screen. The list indicates the total number and names of the participants and allows the meeting host to manage the participants via the following buttons:

2| Send Screenshot| Sends a screenshot of the session’s current screen to the participants. Go to Sending a Screenshot for more information.
3| Terminate Session| Ends the current NovoStage session and disconnects all participants. Once clicked, the attendee(s) list will close.
4| Advanced Attendee Options| Accesses the following options:

  • Full Screen : Sets the presentation window of the selected participant to the full-screen size.
  • Remove : Removes the selected participant from the attendee’s list.

Joining a NovoStage Session

Once a NovoStage session has started, meeting participants can join the session to begin a presentation. To join a session:

  1. Click the Help button ( ) on the NovoStage main screen.

  2. Click one of the following icons based on the type of device/technology you are using and then follow the instructions that appear:

The meeting ID, IP address, or room name that a participant needs to join and begin presenting are located on the NovoStage main screen. Go to The NovoStage Main Screen for more information on the above-mentioned items.

Participants joining via the NovoConnect software may also scan a QR code to join a session. Go to Home Screen Configurations for more information on how to display the QR code on the NovoStage home screen.

Managing a Presentation

A presentation starts once participants have joined the NovoStage session and shared their screens. The following functions are available for the NovoStage user (the host) to manage a presentation.

The host can manage the screen of each presenter using the tool bar at the top of each presentation window.

Split Screen Allows you to select a split-screen layout for the

presentation windows.
NOTE: The windows will be arranged in the order of connection.
Function Icon| Minimize| Minimizes the presentation window.
| Mute| Silences the audio from the corresponding screen. NOTE: The mute button only appears for presenters who share screens via the NovoConnect software and have enabled the Video Playback function.

Function Icon| Close| Closes the presentation window.
NOTE: The presenter will be disconnected from the session but stay on the attendee’s list.

Managing a Full-Screen

By clicking the full screen button ( Function Icon ) on a presentation window the host will display the respective screen in full size. The host can manage the full- screen presentation using the tool bar on the bottom of the full-screen window.

Function Icon| Split Screen| Allows you to select a split-screen layout to return to. Go to Managing a Split-Screen for more information.
Function Icon| Mute| Silences the audio of the screen being shown.

NOTE: The mute button only appears for presenters who share screens via the NovoConnect software and have enabled the Video Playback function.

Function Icon| Shrink| Returns the full-screen window to its previous size and position.
Function Icon| Exit| Exits the full-screen presentation.

NOTE: The presenter will be disconnected from the session but stay on the attendee’s list.

Pausing an Attendee’s Screen

By clicking the pause button ( ) in front of a presenter’s name, the meeting host pauses their presentation and closes their presentation window. This allows the host to stop an attendee from presenting while keeping them in the attendee’s list (with their icon changing from green to blue).

The host can then click a paused presenter’s name in the attendee’s list to resume their presentation.

NOTE 1: The host may need permission from the attendee in order to re-add them into a presentation. See the Ask for Permission to Present function in the Screen-Cast Configuration section for more information about permission to presentation.

NOTE 2 : To remove a presenter from the session entirely, click the advanced attendee options button ( ... ) of the respective presenter and select Remove. Go to Attendee(s) List for more information about the advanced attendee options.

Sending a Screenshot

Click the Send Screenshot button in the attendee’s list of the NovoStage main screen to send a screenshot of the session’s current screen to all participants in the session who are connected via the NovoConnect software.

NOTE: The screen will not be sent to those who are connected via Airplay, Launcher Plus, or any video-conferencing software

Configuring Settings

The Main Settings Menu

Click the settings button ( ) on the NovoStage main screen to access the settings menu that includes the following items. Go to The NovoStage Main Screen for more information on the main screen.

Item Description
Room Name Allows you to edit the name of the NovoStage session.
Home Screen Configuration Sets the items displayed on the NovoStage

main screen. Go to Home Screen Configurations for more information.
Screen-Cast Configuration| Allows you to enable/disable presenting via AirPlay and manage its related options. Go to Screen-Cast Configuration for more information.
Software Update| Allows you to view the current software version and check for software updates.
Send Feedback| Links to the customer support website to contact a Delta service representative.

Home Screen Configurations

Click the Home Screen Configurations button on the settings menu to access the Home Screen Configurations sub-menu.

In the Home Screen Configuration sub-menu, check the box for an item and click Apply to enable the selected item on the NovoStage main screen. Room Name, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Meeting ID are enabled by default.

Click the Screen-Cast Configuration button on the settings menu to access the ScreenCast Configuration sub-menu.

In the Screen-Cast Configuration sub-menu, check the box for a setting and click Apply to enable the selected setting. Enable AirPlay and Ask for Permission to Present are enabled by default.

Item Description
Enable AirPlay Allows users to join the NovoStage session via AirPlay.
Enable AirPlay Code Displays a code on the NovoStage main screen that

users who intend to join via AirPlay will be required to enter.

NOTE: This option will appear only when the Enable AirPlay function is checked.

PIN Required| Displays a PIN on the NovoStage main screen that users who intend to join via the NovoConnect software will be required to enter.
NOTE: Only one code will be displayed when both the
Enable AirPlay Code and PIN Required functions are enabled.
Ask for Permission to Present| Requires the host to obtain a paused presenter’s permission to re-add them into a presentation. Go to Pausing an Attendee’s Screen for more information.
