ELECTRIC WATER KETTLE
Introduction
To get the most out of your new electric kettle, please read this manual and
the enclosed safety instructions before use.
Please also save the instructions in case you need to refer to them at a later
date.

Special safety directions
The electric kettle is not intended for use by children or persons with a
physical, sensory or mental disability or any person unable to operate the
electric kettle unless they are supervised or have been instructed how touse
the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
The electric kettle becomes very hot during use. Touch the handle only. Be
careful not to burn yourself on the hot parts of the kettle or scald yourself
on boiling water or escapingsteam.
Never leave the electric kettle unattended while in operation. Make sure that
it is placed out of the reach of children and that the cord does not hang over
the table or worktop.
Do not submerge the electric kettle in water or other liquids. Avoid touching
the electric kettle with damp or wet hands.
The electric kettle may only be used for heating and boiling water.
Fill the electric kettle with fresh, cold water only.
The water level in the electric kettle must be between the MIN and MAX marks
when you switch it on.
Make sure that the lid is in place before heating the water.
Turn the electric kettle off before lifting it off the base.
Unplug the electric kettle when it is not in use.

Before use
Before using the electric kettle for the first time, fill it with cold water up to the MAX mark, boil the water and pour it away. Repeat this twice.
Use
Fill the electric kettle with water. The water level should be between the MIN
and MAX marks. Plug in.
Turn the electric kettle on by pressing the on/off button.
Once the water boils, the electric kettle automatically switches off . Allow
the kettle to cool off for approximately 30 seconds before using it again.
The kettle has inbuilt dry boil protection, which switches the kettle off if it
boils dry.
Allow the kettle to cool off for approximately 15 minutes.
Lift the electric kettle off the base and use the water as intended. The lid
must not be lifted when pouring water from the electric kettle.
Caution: The spout on the electric kettle will give off hot water and hot
steam.
Pour the rest of the water away and replace the kettle on the base.
Cleaning and maintenance
Wipe the outside of the electric kettle with a well-wrung cloth.
Remove the limescale filter at the spout regularly and clean it.
Lime removal
The electric kettle should be descaled regularly, depending on the hardness of
the local water.
Pour 200 ml of acetic acid and 600 ml of tap water into the electric kettle
and bring to the boil.
Leave the electric kettle to stand for around 10 minutes once it switches off .
Pour the solution away and fill the electric kettle with clean water and boil
twice more to remove all traces of the solution.
You can also use a commercial descaling agent available from supermarkets.
