DOS Burro Ridge 2-Person Co on Canvas Tent

Product Information

The DOS Burro Ridge 2-Person Co on Canvas Tent is a durable and spacious tent designed for camping trips. It is made with a canvas fabric that is ember resistant and naturally repels water. The tent comes with steel tent poles, steel tent stakes, and a tent storage
bag for easy transportation and setup. It is important to follow all safety instructions to ensure the safe and proper usage of the tent.

Product Usage Instructions

Preparation:

  • Before using the Burro Ridge Tipi Tent on your first camping trip, assemble the tent at home to familiarize yourself with the assembly process. Check that all components are present and in working order.
  • Season the canvas fabric by spraying the assembled tent lightly with water and allowing it to dry completely. This seals any small holes in the fabric. This process is only required once.
  • For additional waterproofing, regularly treat the tent with a SILICONE based waterproofing compound. Avoid other types of waterproofing compounds that may affect the breathability of the canvas material.

Assembly:

  • Step 1:
    • Loosely spread the tent fabric on the floor. Consider using a groundsheet for extra protection.
    • Remove the 4 steel tent poles from the tent storage bag and assemble each pole by sliding the ends of each section together.
    • Insert the tent poles into the pole sleeves located at all four corners of the tent.
    • Locate the four metal ring rods attached to each corner of the tent and insert them into the holes located at the bottom of the tent poles.
  • Step 2:
    • Carefully raise the tent into a standing position.
    • Slowly pull the poles away from each other to stretch out the tent fabric.

Remember to always maintain proper ventilation inside the tent, keep flame and heat sources away from the tent, and carefully consider the location where you set up the tent to avoid environmental hazards. Do not allow children to assemble or disassemble the tent, leave them unattended inside the tent, or swing or hang from any part of the tent to prevent injury or death.

Use

It is important to read these instructions carefully before taking the Tent on your first trip.

Preparation

  • Before using the Burro Ridge Tipi Tent on its first camping trip, it is recommended for all users to assemble this tent at home to familiarize yourself with the assembly process. Make sure all the components of your tent are present and in working order.
  • It is recommended to season the canvas fabric used for the Tent walls. To do this, spray the assembled tent lightly with water and allow it to dry completely. This allows the cotton to naturally seal any small holes in the fabric. This process is only required once.
  • Additional waterproofing of the canvas is recommended after seasoning. While our tents are made with a canvas material that naturally repels water, it is recommended that all users regularly lightly treat the tent with a SILICONE based waterproofing compound. Other types of waterproofing compounds may affect the breathability of the canvas material.

Assembly

Step 1

  • Loosely spread the tent fabric on the floor. Although our heavy-duty tent floor is designed to resist punctures and tears, a groundsheet is recommended for longevity. Select a site where water will not flow towards the tent.
  • Remove the 4 steel tent poles from the tent storage bag. Assemble each tent pole by sliding the ends of each section together.
  • Insert the tent poles into the pole sleeves located at all four corners of the tent. This step is most easily done before fully spreading the tent’s footprint.
  • Locate the four metal ring rods attached to each corner of the tent. Insert each ring rod into the holes located at the bottom of the tent poles.

Step 2

  • Carefully raise the tent into a standing position.
  • Slowly pull the poles away from each other. This will stretch out the connecting fabric wall of the tent.
  • Once loosely opened, it may be helpful to stake down one corner of the tent before fully spreading the poles apart.
  • Continue to expand the tent until the wall fabric is tight.

Step 3

  • Stake down each corner of the tent.
  • Tighten the bottom straps located on each corner of the tent floor.
  • Make sure to create adequate ventilation inside the tent by opening the top ventilation flaps and secure them in place with the supports.

Step 4
ENJOY!

Storing the Tent

Step 1

  • Empty all belongings out of the tent.
  • Clean out the interior of the tent by sweeping out any dirt or debris.
  • Allow the tent fabric to dry completely if humidity has built up inside, or if it has rained.
  • If you must pack the tent wet, be sure to allow it to dry once you have returned home.

Step 2

  • Remove ground stakes.
  • Move each tent pole towards each other and slowly collapse the tent inwards.
  • Carefully tilt the tent and lay it on the ground.

Step 3

  • Remove each ring rod from the bottom of each tent pole.
  • Remove each tent pole from its corresponding sleeve.
  • Break down the poles to their individual sections

Step 4

  • Carefully fold and roll up the tent. This is best done by laying the square floor of the tent down and folding inwards from the corners.
  • Store the tent and tent poles in their respective bags.

Use and Care

  • While the Burro Ridge Tipi Tent is built with durability and longevity in mind, please be sure to occasionally use a damp rag and wipe the tent fabric clean.
  • While the canvas material is naturally breathable, condensation could still build up inside the tent. Condensation can be reduced by allowing air ventilation. Tents should be allowed to dry completely before storage. If a tent must be stored while wet, loosely roll the tent for transport and then immediately unroll and set up after transport to dry thoroughly before long-term storage. Failure to do so could cause rot or mildew in the canvas material.
  • Keep tent fabric away from sharp objects such as rough stones and rocks, thorns, metal edges, etc.
  • Keep zippers free from dirt and excessive force in order to prolong zipper life.
  • A groundsheet underneath your tent is recommended to maximize the life of your tent’s floor.
  • We do not recommend spraying insecticides or bug repellant directly onto the tent fabric. If you must do so (we fully understand), use a fabric-safe repellant such as Picaridin, not DEET.
