Congratulations on the purchase of your 
“Multi- Detektor LCD”. To ensure proper use of the unit and for
your own safety, please read this instruction manual and the safety notes
before operating the “Multi-Detektor LCD” for the first time. Keep the
instructions in a safe place to refer to later in case questions arise or to
pass on to future owners.

Environmental Protection
The packaging materials can be recycled. Please recycle the components instead of throwing them into household rubbish. You can also leave the packaging directly at your BAUHAUS location to be properly recycled from there.
As the unit itself also contains valuable recyclable components, you are required to recycle your used unit. Please contact your local waste disposal department for information regarding proper disposal measures and unloading points.
Warranty
Warranties apply for the
duration specified, calculated from the time of handover of the product to the
customer. The warranty guarantees that the product is free from defects.
Batteries, lamps and wearing parts are excluded from the warranty.
In the event of defects arising during the duration of the warranty and of
which is given notice, will, on
their own choice, 
either repair the defects, replace the unit or refund the
purchase price upon return of the unit. Excluded from this warranty are
defects, disorders and wearing effects that can be attributed to wearing from
normal use, improper handling or faulty maintenance. Opening the unit housing
causes the warranty to become void. Further claims may not be made on the
basis of the warranty. The statutory warranty rights of the customer remains
unaffected. Warranties can be claimed upon presentation of the product and the
sales receipt. Manufacturer warranty claims shall be made to the manufacturer.
Statutory warranty rights also remain unaffected in this case.

There are symbols on the tool type plates an in the manual. These symbols depict important information and/or operating instructions for the product.

General warning. Indicates that failing to follow the instructions in this

batteries it means that you may not dispose of them as general waste. The
chemicals in electrical/electronic devices an in batteries can pose a health
risk and damage the environment,
Operating elements
Assembly Instructions
Assembly of the batteries
- Open cover and insert 1x 9V battery
- Making sure that the + and – terminals are orientated correctly.
- Close battery compartment cover and ensure it is in place securely.
- Always remove the batteries from the tool, if the tool is not used for a long period.
- Always replace the complete set of batteries.
Caution!
- Always remove exhausted batteries from these products
- Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. Batteries may explode or leak
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals
- Do not mix used and new batteries
- Do not use rechargeable batteries in this product.
- Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries
- Do not allow any part to come in contact with heat or a direct flame
- Do not allow water to come into contact with the batteries or wiring
- When installing batteries in the battery compartment, ensure the batteries are placed as marked (+)(-)
- Only the recommended batteries should be used
- Keep this product out of the reach of small children.
Operation
Turning the power on/off
- On:: Press and hold the on/off button on left side
- Off::Release on/off button.
Stud Scan or Deep Scan modes
Stud Scan mode for depths to about 18mm
Deep Scan mode for Depths to about 30mm
- Position the scanner flatly against the wall
- Select mode
- Press and hold on/off button. Sounds off the auto finish
- Slowly slide unit horizontally across wall, right of left
- When full bars appears on the LCD and steady tone sounds, you have located the edge of the stud
- Mark this spot.
- Continue holding on/off button in and scan beyond the marked spot until bars disappears
- Without releasing on/off button, slide scanner in reverse direction to locate the other edge of stud
- Mark this second spot. Middle of stud is centered between the two marks.
Calibrating and Scanning in metal Scan
- Select metal mode
- Press and hold on/off button
- Then calibrate scanner in air. Move away from metal objects until the sound is off
- Place scanner flat on the surface
- While holding in on/off button, slowly move unit randomly to locate target
- LCD screen indicates proximity to metal, with center bar indicating closest proximity
- Mark this spot
- Continue scanning beyond the marked spot to detect width of target. If target is wide , reverse to locate and mark the other edge
- Avoid sawing or drilling between the two marks
- Widths will vary from single peak for narrow rebar to wide area for metal studs, I beams and junction boxes.
Scanning in AC mode
Important notice!
- AC depths to about 50mm
- The scanner detects from 90V to 250 V at 50 to 60 Hz AC in a HOT electrical wire
- The voltage detection feature works continuously in all modes for safety
- Select AC scan mode to determine position of hot wires
- Begin by placing the scanner at some position away from hot wiring
- While holding in the on/off button, slowly slide unit across the wall
- AC indicator will appear on LCD if a hot wire is nearby
- LCD display indicates proximity to hot wire all bars indicating closest proximity
- Mark this mark.
