Product Usage Instructions

  1. Set the thermostat to the OFF position or its lowest temperature setting.
  2. Turn off the electric power at the disconnect or the main service panel before making any electrical connections.
  3. Shut off all electrical power to the appliance.
  4. Remove the fasteners from the exterior panel covering the control panel and remove the panel.
  5. Unplug the inducer lead wires, ensuring that the power is turned off.
  6. Remove the fastener(s) securing the exhaust duct to the inducer and slide the exhaust duct assembly off the end of the inducer.
  7. Remove the nuts securing the existing inducer and blower housing assembly to the collector pan assembly and remove the inducer.
  8. Remove the screws securing the control panel to the unit and pivot the control panel outwards to allow the motor and housing assembly to come off the mounting studs.
  9. Place the new inducer motor mounting gasket on the collector pan assembly, ensuring proper alignment with the hole patterns in the gasket and fasteners.
  10. Mount the new inducer on the collector pan and secure it with the nuts removed earlier.
  11. Attach the exhaust duct assembly to the inducer outlet and secure it with the fastener(s) removed earlier. Make sure to seal the connection between the inducer outlet and the duct with high temperature sealant.
  12. Secure the control panel to the unit using the screws removed earlier.
  13. Reconnect the inducer lead wires, referring to the wiring diagram label on the appliance door or the installation instructions for proper connection.
  14. Check unit wiring for loose connections.
  15. Install the exterior panel over the control panel and secure it with the fasteners removed earlier.
  16. Restore power to the unit and verify the operation of the appliance. Follow the startup and adjustment instructions in the unit’s installation instructions.

Note : It is recommended to consult a qualified installer, service agency, or gas supplier for the replacement of the inducer to ensure proper installation and avoid any potential damage or personal injury.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING:

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS

  • Do not try to light any appliance.
  • Do not touch any electrical switch; do not use any phone in your building.
  • Leave the building immediately.
  • Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbors phone. Follow the gas suppliers instructions.
  • If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department.

BEFORE YOU INSTALL THIS KIT

CAUTION: Replacement of the inducer must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency or the gas supplier. Improper installation, alteration, service, or maintenance may cause property damage or personal injury.

√ Read these installation instructions thoroughly before proceeding with the inducer replacement.
√ Check your kit and make sure all necessary items are enclosed in the kit. This includes:

INSTALLATION OF REPLACEMENT KIT

  1. Set the thermostat to the OFF position or its lowest temperature setting.

WARNING:

To avoid electric shock, personal injury, or death, turn off the electric power at the disconnect or the main service panel before making any electrical connections.

  1. Shut off all electrical power to the

  2. Remove the fasteners from the exterior panel covering the control panel. Set the fastners aside and remove the exterior panel. Do not discard the fastener

  3. Unplug the inducer lead wires. Do not touch these wires if the electricity is on! Power must be turned off!

  4. Remove the fastener(s) securing the exhaust duct to the inducer. Slide the exhaust duct assembly off the end of the inducer. Do not discard the fasteners.

  5. Remove 4 nuts securing the existing inducer and blower housing assembly to the collector pan assembly. Set the nuts aside and remove the inducer. Do not discard the nuts.

  6. Remove 2 screws (top & bottom) securing the control panel to the unit. Set the screws aside and slightly pivot the control panel outwards to allow the motor and housing assembly to come off the mounting studs. Do not discard the screws.
    IMPORTANT NOTES:
    If proper tools are not available to allow removal of the lower left mounting nut in step 6, the 2 screws securing the control panel (on the left side) can be removed. Carefully rotate the panel outward, being careful not to pull wires lose from their connection points.
    After removing the inducer, make sure the remaining gasket material is removed from the collector pan assembly.

  7. Place the new inducer motor mounting gasket on the collector pan assembly. Make sure the hole patterns in the gasket and the fasteners on the collector pan assembly are in proper alignment.

  8. Mount the new inducer on the collector pan and secure with the 4 nuts removed earlier in step 6.

  9. Attach the exhaust duct assembly to the inducer outlet. Secure the duct with the fastener(s) that were removed earlier in step 5. NOTE: The connection between the inducer outlet and the duct must be sealed with high temperature sealant able to withstand continuous heat exposure to at least 400o F minimum.

  10. Secure the control panel to the unit using the 2 screws removed in step 7.

  11. Reconnect the inducer lead wires. NOTE: Refer to the wiring diagram label on the appliance door or the installation instructions supplied with the unit for proper connection of the inducer motor wiring.

  12. Check unit wiring for loose connections.

  13. Install the exterior panel over the control panel and secure with fasteners removed in step 3.

  14. Restore power to the unit and verify operation of the appliance. Follow all steps outlined in the Startup & Adjustment section of the unit’s installation instructions
