Introduction
The Wired Energy Manager enables S&P chargers to home load balance and solar charge using a wire connected current transformer.
NOTE: When the Wired Energy Manager is connected to a S&P charger it operates with a G100 compliant failsafe function.

This equipment should only be installed by a qualified electrician with an
understanding of the electrical and building regulations.
The installer and/or designer is responsible for the installation in its
entirety, any internal protection provided by the manufacturer must be
confirmed through commissioning and testing of the equipment installed.
Particular environments and locations may have an effect on internal
protection and the reliability of the equipment.
The installation instructions should be followed closely to ensure correct
installation and commissioning, failure to follow these instructions could
result in damage to the Wired Energy Manager, existing installation or

Installation Location
The S&P Wired Energy Manager is for the installation indoors only
Compatibility
The Wired Energy Manager CT has been pre-calibrated in the factory and does
not require on site calibration.
Warning: Use of a standard CT may result in incorrect readings.
Getting Ready
Ensure the EV charger is installed in the desired Location with the correct cable gland holds fittedbefore terminating the CT connections.
Run an independent data cable (2 core for Single Phase, 6 core for Three phase) from the CT clamping point to the charger.
Alternatively use specialist EV power cable with integrated data cables (i.e. Doncaster cable EV Ultra).
Step 1 (optional)
Adding an additional data cable entry point.

Step 2
Single-phase termination. (for Three-phase go to Step 3)

Fit the CT clamp around L1.
Connect the CT clamp to the installed data cable.
Single-phase internal CT cable routing.

Step 3
Three-phase termination. (for Single-phase go to Step 2)

Fit the CT clamps around L1, L2, L3. Connect the CT clamps to the installed data cable.

Step 4
Open the S&P app. Select ‘Installation Menu’.
Select the charger you wish to pair with (should you have more than one).
Then select ‘Smart Home Devices’.
Check the Wired Energy Manager is connected to the charger. Status should be ‘Connected’.
Check the Wired Energy Manager is reading the right way. When the home is not exporting to the grid, you should see a positive Amp reading. When the home is exporting to the grid, you should see a negative Amp reading.
Handy Note: If the readings are incorrect, simply select the Reverse Reading button to flip the readings (no need to rewire the CT).
Step 5
Setup Home Load Balancing (optional)
Select the Home Load Balancing setup option.
Select the home fuse rating.
Select the failsafe fuse rating.
