Product Information
The AQ-SFRO-S2 is an under sink water filter system manufactured by Aquasana, Inc. It is certified by WQA to NSF/ANSI Standard 58 and CSA B483.1 for its performance in reducing contaminants. The system uses a SmartFlowTM Reverse Osmosis Membrane for effective filtration.
The system is designed to remove a wide range of contaminants from your water supply. For a full list of filtered contaminants, refer to the Performance Data Sheet available on the Aquasana website.
The recommended replacement frequency for the AQ-SFRO-S2 is every 12 months. To maintain optimal contaminant removal and system performance, it is important to use only certified, genuine Aquasana replacement filters.
Product Usage Instructions
-
Prepare for Installation:
- Turn off the COLD water valve.
- Release pressure from the system by turning on the dedicated
faucet until water stops flowing. Once water stops flowing, turn the faucet off.
-
Unbox SmartFlowTM Membrane replacement and remove plastic.
-
Remove the existing SmartFlowTM Membrane cartridge from Stage 2 by turning the handle to the left and pulling it out. Discard the entire cartridge.
-
Insert the new SmartFlowTM Membrane cartridge into Stage 2 in the system manifold by turning it to the right with the handle vertically aligned. Ensure proper alignment using the guides on each filter.
-
Once the filter is engaged, push it fully in while rotating 90 degrees to the right.
-
Flush and Check for Leaks:
- Turn on the COLD water valve and confirm that the dedicated faucet is off.
- While the tank refills, carefully inspect for leaks.
- Note: It may take 1-3 hours for the water tank to refill.
-
After the water tank is full, turn on the dedicated faucet and empty the tank again.
-
Once the water tank is empty, turn off the dedicated faucet and allow the tank to refill. Repeat this step two more times.
-
Once you have emptied three tanks of water, close all faucets and refill for regular use.
Note: Do not drink flushed water during the flushing process.
Care Instructions
To clean the system manifold and tank, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use any strong or abrasive cleaning agents or solvent cleaners.
Important: Do not use the AQ-SFRO-S2 with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Refer to the Performance Data Sheet and Arsenic Facts section for information on reduction performance and cyst reduction.
