Setup
Note: All Cat5e/6 cables must be terminated to 568B standards.
-
Unshielded (or properly terminated shielded cable), solid core Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6e, Cat7, or Cat7e cables can be used. A stranded core is not suggested as it can reduce signal transfer. Recommended to use a continuous length of cable terminated at the matrix and receiver ends.
With the splitter power switch in the OFF position, connect the HDMI High- Speed cable from the HDMI Output of the audio/video source to the HDMI Input located on the rear of the splitter. -
Tips: Use the shortest length of HDMI cables possible at each point in the installation. Use only High Quality and High-Speed HDMI cables.
-
Next, connect a Cat5e/6 cable to the HDBaseT Out 1 port on the rear of the splitter. Connect the other end of the Cat5e/6 cable to the HDBaseT IN port on the rear of the HDBaseT receiver positioned near the TV. Run a short, High-Speed HDMI cable from the HDMI Out port on the receiver to the HDMI In port on the TV. Plug a provided power adapter into an AC outlet and the other end into the HDBaseT receiver. Using the same steps, connect the remaining displays to the splitter.
-
Important: The HDBaseT Receivers when operating are warm and do require space around the housing for air circulation and cooling. Do not enclose the HDBaseT receiver. If placed behind a component such as a TV, ensure that there is adequate space for air circulation and ambient cooling and that there is no heat being generated and transmitted to the receiver from the other device. Damage caused by improper placement and overheating of the splitter or the receiver is not covered by the product warranty.
LED Indicator Lights
On initial power on, all LED lights on the splitter should come on solid blue. If less than the maximum number of Displays are connected to the splitter (not all the outputs are used) there will be no corresponding HDMI OUT blue LED for the unused output. Blue lights will only appear for devices connected.
The HDBaseT Receiver has 4 LED indicators:
- HDCP: A solid LED indicates that the HDCP handshake between the source and display has been authenticated.
- Link: Indicates a connection between the Matrix and the Receiver.
- Mode: A flashing LED indicates the correct operation of the system.
- Power: A solid LED indicates power to the receiver.
Infrared Control (IR)
- The 1×4 Splitter featuring HDBaseT Lite includes 4 pairs of Infrared Extenders, 4 IR Transmitters (IR-TX), and 4 IR Receivers (IR-RX). The front panel of the splitter has 1 IR-TX port. The HDBaseT Receivers each have one IR-TX port and one IR-RX port. Using the included extenders, you can configure the IR to control the source devices when present at any of the displays.
- The port on the splitter labeled “IR” accepts an optional IR-TX, sending commands received from the IR-RX at the display end (HDBaseT receiver) to the IR “eye” on a source.
- Plug an IR-RX into the IR-RX Port of the HDBaseT receiver. Place the end of the IR-RX in an area that is in line of sight to the remote control.
- Plug an IR-TX into the IR port on the splitter. Position the end of the IR-TX in line of sight to the IR “eye” of the source device. The IR “eye” is normally a small circle on the face of the source device that receives the IR signal from its remote control.
- To control multiple source devices with one IR-TX, stack the sources together and position the IR-TX, which is plugged into the IR port on the splitter so that all the source devices can receive the IR signal (Blast) from the IR-TX.
- Note: A remote control is not included. A remote control programmed to control the source device/s is required for IR operation.

Troubleshooting
-
One of the displays does not show a picture or output audio.
Check the display’s input setting to ensure it is set to receive a signal from the connected HDMI port. -
One or more of the connected displays will not display a picture while one or more of the displays do display a picture:
Press the RESET button on the front of the splitter to reset it. Alternatively turn off the power to the splitter, source, and displays. Wait 60 seconds. Turn the source on and the displays on. Turn the splitter on. A2. The HDMI cables on the non-functional display/s cannot support their long length. Use only high-quality High-Speed HDMI cables. Keep the cable length as short as possible. Test by locating the non-working display close to the splitter. Use a short HDMI cable to connect the switch to the TV. A working TV using a short HDMI cable indicates an issue with the HDMI cable. -
The splitter is not down-sampling the video and some of the TVs are not displaying a picture.
- Go into the TV setup and configure the resolution to match all the connected TVs. The TVs should share the same resolution.
- In the source devices menu options set the source device to output a resolution that matches all the connected displays.
-
My TV’s resolution is not optimized.
The splitter will query the displays and provide the highest common video resolution amongst them. Example: Using a 1080p source, if 3 of the displays support a maximum resolution of 1080p and 1 display supports a maximum resolution of 720p, all 4 displays will operate at a resolution of 720p. If the 720p TV in the example is then turned off, the other 3 displays can then operate in 1080p resolution. Press the RESET button on the front panel of the splitter to refresh the configuration. The three 1080p TVs will refresh (flicker) then each will display a 1080p resolution picture. -
