Product Usage Instructions
- Read all safety warnings and instructions before using the device.
- To adjust the strength, use the increase strength button (2) to increase and the decrease strength button (3) to decrease.
- The cooling/heating plate (4) is used for heating and cooling the skin. Do not use on sensitive skin areas.
- The indicator LEDs (5) provide visual feedback on the device’s status.
- Make sure to keep the air intake (6) and air vent (7) clear of any obstructions.
- Charge the device using the provided charging cord (8) and connect it to the charging port (9).
- The device can be worn using the 360-degree lanyard (10) attached to the lanyard connector (12).
- Do not let children come into contact with the product. Supervision is required when inexperienced operators use this product.
- The device is not intended for use on animals.

NEVER force a charger plug into the product.

DO NOT modify the charger plug of a non‑compatible charger in any way to fit into the product as the battery may rupture causing serious personal injury.

DO NOT charge or use the battery in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Inserting or removing the charger plug from the product may ignite the dust or fumes.

Only charge the battery with the provided charger.
-
DO NOT splash or immerse in water or other liquids.

DO NOT allow water or any liquid to enter product.

DO NOT store or use the product in locations where the temperature may reach or exceed 104 °F (40 °C) (such as outside sheds or metal buildings in summer). For best life, store product in a cool, dry location.
NOTE: Do not store with switch in on position. -
DO NOT incinerate the product even if it is severely damaged or is completely worn out. The battery can explode in a fire. Toxic fumes and materials are created when lithium-ion batteries are burned.

If battery contents come into contact with the skin, immediately wash area with mild soap and water. If battery liquid gets into the eye, rinse water over the open eye for 15 minutes or until irritation ceases. If medical attention is needed, the battery electrolyte is composed of a mixture of liquid organic carbonates and lithium salts.

Contents of opened battery cells may cause respiratory irritation. Provide fresh air. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

Battery liquid may be flammable if exposed to spark or flame.

Never attempt to open the product for any reason. If the product case is cracked or damaged, do not charge. Do not crush, drop or damage the product. Do not use a product or charger that has received a sharp blow, been dropped, run over or damaged in any way (e.g., pierced with a nail, hit with a hammer, stepped on). Damaged products should be returned to the service center for recycling.
Storage Recommendations
The best storage place is one that is cool and dry, away from direct sunlight
and excess heat or cold. Store the fully charged product disconnected from the
charger.
Transportation
NOTE: Integral Li‑ion products should not be put in checked baggage on airplanes and must be properly protected from short circuits if they are in carry‑on baggage.
Product Disposal
This product uses a lithium‑ion rechargeable and recyclable battery. When the
battery
no longer holds a charge, the product should be recycled. The product should
not be incinerated or placed in the trash.
The product can be taken for disposal to an Authorized Service Center. Some
local retailers are also participating in a national recycling program. Call
your local retailer for details. If you bring the product to an Authorized
Service Center, the center will arrange to recycle the product and its
battery. Or, contact your local municipality for proper disposal instructions
in your city/town.
Important Safety Instructions for All Integral Battery Charging
WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, and cautionary markings for the battery, cable and product. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
- The provided charging cable is not intended for any uses other than charging BLACK+DECKER rechargeable products with micro USB ports. Charging other types of products may cause their batteries to overheat and burst, resulting in personal injury, property damage, fire, electric shock or electrocution.
- Use only with the Listed/Certified Information Technology Equipment (e.g. computer).
- DO NOT expose charging cable to water, rain or snow.
- Pull by the plugs rather than the cord when disconnecting the charging cable. This will reduce the risk of damage to the plugs and cord.
- Make sure that the cord is located so that it will not be stepped on, tripped over or otherwise subjected to damage or stress.
- When charging the product outdoors, always provide a dry location.
- DO NOT use a charging cable with a damaged cord or plugs. Have them replaced immediately.
- Foreign materials of a conductive nature, such as, but not limited to, grinding dust, metal chips, steel wool, aluminum foil or any buildup of metallic particles should be kept away from the charger plugs and port.
- Always unplug the charging cable from the power supply when there is no product attached to it.
Charging Procedure (Fig. A, B)
WARNING: For use only with the supplied charging cord.
NOTE: Fully charge device before the first use.
- Turn the device off by sliding the 3‑position power slider 1 to the center (off position).
- Insert the charging cord 8 into the charging port 9 .
- Plug the other end of the charging cord into any compatible port (such as on a computer). The indicator LEDs 5 will flash white, indicating the level of charge.
NOTE: When first turning on the device to warm or cool mode, if the battery is at or below 10% power, the left white LED will blink for 3 seconds, then turn back to solid red or blue depending on whether the device is set to cool or warm. When battery reaches 0% power, 3 white LEDs will flash for 5 seconds, and then the device will power off.

NOTE:
- While charging, the charger may get warm, this is perfectly normal and safe. It is safe to leave the product connected to the charger indefinitely. The charger automatically reduces power consumption when charging is complete.
- The device can not be used while charging or even plugged in while fully charged NOTE: If 3‑position power slider is in the warm or cool mode, the device won’t automatically turn on after charger is removed. The slider has to be reset to the center/off position, then moved to warm or cool mode position for functionality to start again
- When charging cable is unplugged, all LEDs shut off.
Adaptor rating: 5V/2A
Electronic Protection System
Lithium Ion products are designed with an Electronic Protection System that
will protect the battery against overloading, overheating or deep discharge.
The product will automatically turn off and the battery will need to be
recharged.
ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
Inserting into Lanyard (Fig. C, D)
WARNING: Ensure the air intake and air vent are not obstructed.
- Insert the bottom of the ComfortPak into the lanyard cooling/heating plate opening 11 until it contacts the bottom of the lanyard as shown in Fig. C.
- Wrap the top of the lanyard over the top of the ComfortPak so it sits fully in the lanyard.
- Ensure each part sits perfectly in its corresponding place within the lanyard as shown in Fig. C and D.

OPERATION
On / Off (Fig. E)
When the 3‑position power slider 1 is located in the middle of the slider, the
unit is in the off position.
- To turn on the heat setting, slide the power slider up toward the increase strength button 2 . Red LEDs will illuminate.
- To turn on the cool setting, slide the power slider down toward the decrease strength button 3 . Blue LEDs will illuminate.
- To turn the unit off, slide the power slider to the center.
Setting Temperature Levels (Fig. A, F)

Turn the unit on to the heat or cool setting as described in the On / Off section.
NOTE: The unit will always default to the lowest setting when turned on. -
To increase the temperature level, press the increase strength button 2 .
-
To decrease the temperature level, press the decrease strength button 3 .
-
The number of indicator LEDs 5 illuminated indicates the strength of the temperature setting.
NOTE: There is a temperature regulator, so certain functions will be disabled depending on the initial temperature of the device when turning on.
- If device temperature is above high safety limit when starting device, the heat setting will be disabled. 1 red LED will blink for 10 seconds, then device will power off.
- If device temperature is below low safety limit when starting device, the cool setting will be disabled. 1 blue LED will blink for 10 seconds, then device will power off.
- If the environmental temperature is approximately 107 °F (42 °C) or higher, the heat setting will be disabled.
- If the environmental temperature is approximately 60 °F (15 °C) or lower, the cool setting will be disabled.
Pulsing Mode
To help regulate a consistent feeling of cooling and heating, the temperature
of the cooling/heating plate 4 fluctuates on all cooling modes and high
heating mode.
Putting the Lanyard On (Fig. A, G)
NOTE: When using in cool mode, wear well‑ventilated clothing and ensure the air vent 7 is facing up out of the top of the shirt. If the air vent is covered when in cool mode, the unit may overheat.
- Insert the unit into the 360‑degree lanyard 10 as described in the Inserting Into Lanyard section.
- Place the lanyard around your neck so the cooling/heating plate 4 sits directly on the skin.
- Insert the lanyard connector 12 into the lanyard connector hole 13 .
- Let go of the lanyard. The ComfortPak will now stay in place.
MAINTENANCE
Your BLACK+DECKER product has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper appliance care and regular cleaning.
Cleaning
WARNING: Never use solvents or other harsh chemicals for cleaning the product. These chemicals may weaken the plastic materials used in these parts. Use a cloth dampened only with water and mild soap. Never let any liquid get inside the product; never immerse any part of the product into a liquid.
Accessories
WARNING: Since accessories, other than those offered by BLACK+DECKER, have not been tested with this product, use of such accessories with this product could be hazardous. To reduce the risk of injury, only BLACK+DECKER recommended accessories should be used with this product.

The product and charging cable are not serviceable. There are no serviceable
parts inside the product or charging cable.

This limited warranty does not cover failures due to abuse, accidental damage or when repairs have been made or attempted by anyone other than BLACK+DECKER and its Authorized Service Centers. A defective product meeting the warranty conditions set forth herein will be replaced or repaired at no charge in either of two ways:
The first, which will result in exchanges only, is to return the product to
the retailer from whom it was purchased (provided that the store is a
participating retailer). Returns should be made within the time period of the
retailer’s policy for exchanges. Proof of purchase may be required. Please
check with the retailer for its specific return policy regarding time limits
for returns or exchanges. The second option is to take or send the product
(prepaid) to a BLACK+DECKER owned or authorized Service Center for repair or
