- Inside the battery compartment, you will also find the channel setting switch (4) that allows you to switch between channels “CH1, CH2 and CH3”. Press the button (4) until the desired channel has been set. The display (1) shows CH1, CH2 or CH3.
- Then close the battery compartment cover.
Changing batteries
- Open the battery compartment (5), remove and dispose of the spent batteries and insert two new AA batteries observing the correct polarity. Then close the battery compartment cover.
Note
Please remember, during commissioning, to always insert the batteries into the
measuring station first and then into the base station.
Installation
Note – Installation
- We recommend initially positioning the base station and measuring station at the preferred setup locations without installing them and carrying out all the settings – as described in 6. Operation.
- Do not install the station(s) until the settings are correct and the radio connection is stable.
Note
- The range of the radio transmission between the measuring station and the base station is up to 30m in unobstructed areas. Before installing, make sure that the radio transmission is not influenced by interfering signals or obstacles such as buildings, trees, vehicles, high-voltage power lines, etc.
- Before final installation, make sure that there is sufficient reception between the desired installation locations.
- When installing the measuring station, take care to ensure this is positioned so that it is protected from direct sunlight and rain.
- The international standard height for measuring air temperature is 1.25 m (4 ft) above ground.
Warning
- Buy special or suitable installation material from a specialist dealer for wall-mounting.
- Ensure that you do not install any faulty or damaged parts.
- Never apply force during installation. These can damage the product.
- Before mounting, check that the wall you have chosen is suitable for the weight to be mounted. Also make sure that there are no electric, water, gas or other lines running through the wall at the mounting site.
- Do not mount the product above locations where persons might sit or stand.
- We recommend mounting the measuring station securely and firmly onto an outdoor wall.
- Secure the dowel, screw, nail, etc. in the wall provided.
- Hang the measuring station onto it using the cut-out (6) provided.
Operation
Connection to the measuring station
- Place both devices as close together as possible to connect the base station and the measuring station with each other.
- After the batteries are inserted, the base station automatically searches for a connection to the measuring station and carries out the initial setup routine.
- If the device does not connect automatically, the manual search process must be started on the base station.
Note
- Initial setup takes around 3 seconds.
- The radio symbol on the measuring station flashes during the connection attempt.
- Avoid any operation of the buttons during this time! Otherwise, errors and inaccuracies may occur in the values and their transmission.
- The process is finished as soon as the indoor and outdoor measurement data are displayed on the base station.
- The measured value is automatically updated by the base device about every 30 seconds.
- If the temperature value is outside of the measuring range, LLL.L (for temperatures below the measuring range) or HH.H (for temperatures above the measuring range) will be displayed in the temperature indicator.
Channel selection/additional measuring stations
Note
- When doing so, ensure the same channel setting on the base station and each measuring station. Suitable base stations can be found at www.hama.com
- The transmitter channel of the supplied measuring station can be changed/set (CH1, CH2, CH3).
- The measuring station is suitable for the following base stations: 186380, 186412
Low battery
Measuring station
If the batteries need to be replaced, the icon for the low battery level
appears next to the outside temperature indicator of the base device . Change
the battery immediately.
Note – Changing the batteries
- Be aware that, after every battery change on the measuring station or base station, the stations will need to be resynchronised.
- To do this, remove the batteries from the other station and re-insert them or change them completely if required.
