Important Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before using the iron. When using your iron, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

1. Use iron only for its intended use.
2. To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids.
3. Always turn the iron OFF before plugging or unplugging.

Special Instructions:

1. To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit.
2. If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 15 amp. cord should be used. Cords rated for less amper may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.

• NYLON: Synthetic fibres, e.g. viscose, polyester
• SILK: Silk fabric
• WOOL: Wool fabric
• COTTON: Cotton fabric
• LINEN: Linen fabric

IMPORTANT: The iron takes longer to cool down than to heat up. We recommend that you start with fabrics to be ironed at a low temperature. For mixed fabrics, set the temperature for the most delicate fabric.

TIP: Always spray starch onto the reverse side of the fabric to be ironed. For dry ironing, do not press the steam trigger. Ideal for delicates or perfect finishing.

This iron is equipped with an on-demand steam trigger so you can activate the steam only when needed and control the steam output according to your needs. To start the steam output, press continuously the trigger to the first level (see fig 7-a or below).

Continuous Steam:

On NYLON mode, the steam is blocked in order to protect your clothes. On linen and cotton mode only, to eradicate the toughest creases, you can activate the steam boost: press the trigger to the max level (1 second max) and release (see fig 7-b or below). Wait a
few seconds between each shot before pressing the trigger again.

IMPORTANT: Leave an interval of a few seconds between each shot and wait until the flow of steam has finished before standing the iron on its heel.

4. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around iron when storing.
5. Always disconnect iron from electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying and when not in use.
6. Do not operate iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron. Contact our Consumer Service Department for examination, repair or adjustment. Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric shock when the iron is used.
7. Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Do not leave iron unattended while connected or on an ironing board.
8. Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam. Use caution when you turn a steam iron upside down – there may be hot water in the reservoir.
9. This appliance is only for domestic and personal use.

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capa-bilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• During the first few uses, a harmless odour and a small amount of smoke may be given off. This has no effect on the use of the iron and will disappear quickly.
• Warning ! The voltage of your electrical installation must correspond to that of the iron (120V or 127 V). Connecting to the wrong voltage may cause irreversible damage to the iron and will terminate the guarantee.
• If it is absolutely essential to use an extension cable, choose a 15 amp cord.
• If the electrical cord becomes damaged, it must be immediately replaced by an Approved Service Centre to avoid any danger.
• The appliance should not be used if it has fallen, if it has obvious damage, if it leaks or functions incorrectly. Never dismantle your appliance : have it inspected by an Approved Service Centre, to avoid any danger.
• Never immerse your iron in water !
• Do not unplug your appliance by pulling on the cord. Always unplug your appliance: before filling or rinsing the water tank, before cleaning it, after each use. Never leave the appliance unattended when it is connected to a power source or if it has not cooled down for approximately 1 hour.
• Your appliance gives off steam, which may cause burns.
• Take extra care especially when you are ironing close to the edge or on a corner of your ironing board. Never direct the steam towards people or animals.
• Your iron should be used and placed on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. When you put your iron onto its iron rest, make sure that the surface on which you put it is stable.
• This product has been designed for domesic and indoor use only. The manufacturer will accept no responsibility and the gua-rantee will be terminated, if this product is used for commercial purposes, inappropriate use or failure to comply with the instructions.

WHAT WATER TO USE?
Your appliance was designed to operate using tap water. However, it is necessary to periodically clean the steam chamber to remove any mineral deposits.
If your water is very hard (above 30°f or 17°dH or 21°e), mix 50% tap water with 50% demineralised water (available in hardware stores).
Do not use water with additive (starch, perfume, aromatic substances, softener, etc.), condensation water (e.g. water from clothes dryers, water from refrigerators, water from air conditioners, rainwater), pure demineralized or pure demineralised water.
These types of water contain organic waste, mineral elements that become concentrated when heated and cause spitting, brown staining, leaking or premature wear on your iron.

The Steam Power Control Technology allows perfect control over the steam power. A smart trigger enables you to control the amount of steam and activate it only when you need, for a personal experience.
Smart control panel has 5 pre-settings for different fabric types. Smart controls will automatically adapt to a precise temperature of the soleplate and steam output. There’s no need to worry about burning your fabrics.

BEFORE USE

USE

Filling the water tank

• Before filling the water tank, unplug the iron fig 1.
• Open the water filling inlet fig 2. Fill in water up to the Max. mark. fig 3. Close the filling inlet and return the iron to the horizontal position.
• You can plug in your iron fig 4.

Setting the temperature
Your iron is equipped with the Autosteam Electronic Control function, it automatically adjusts the steam amount and the temperature based on the selected fabric for optimum results. Select the fabric to be ironed by pressing the MODE button to select the appropriate fabric. fig 5. For perfect results, an optimum position for each fabric has been pre-defined.
When your iron reaches the required temperature, the selected fabric in the LED screen stops flashing and is displayed constantly fig 6. You can start ironing.

IMPORTANT The iron takes longer to cool down than to heat up. We recommend that you start with fabrics to be ironed at a low temperature. For mixed fabrics set the temperature for the most delicate fabric.
TIP: Always spray starch onto the reverse side of the fabric to be ironed.

Dry ironing
For dry ironing, do not press the steam trigger. Ideal for delicates or perfect finishing.

Steam ironing
This iron is equipped with an on-demand steam trigger so you can activate the steam only when needed and control the steam output according to your needs.
To start the steam output, press continuously the trigger to the first level fig 7-a or below.

On NYLON mode, the steam is blocked in order to protect your clothes.

On linen and cotton mode only, to eradicate the toughest creases, you can activate the steam boost: press the trigger to the max level (1 seconde max) and release (fig 7-b or below). Wait a few seconds between each shot before pressing the trigger again.

Vertical shot of steam
Select the Linen mode and hold the iron vertically. Press the trigger to the max level to activate the shot of steam to remove creases from suits, jackets, skirts, hanging curtains etc. fig 8. Wait a few seconds between each shot before pressing the trigger again.

IMPORTANT Never direct the steam at persons or animals!
TIP Hold the iron 20 centimetres away from the garment to avoid burning delicate fabrics.

Anti-Drip system
It prevents water dripping out of the soleplate when the temperature is too low.

Auto Off function

• For your safety, the electronic system cuts off the power and the auto off indicator light flashes fig 9 when:
  • The iron remains motionless for more than 8 minutes on its base
  • The iron remains flat or on its side for more than 30 seconds
    To restart the iron, just move it gently until the warning light stops flashing.

AFTER USE

Emptying

Unplug the iron fig 1. Pour away remaining water fig 10.

Storing
Allow the appliance to cool down for 1 hour before winding the cord around the heel. Store the iron on its base in a dry and safe place fig 12.

IMPORTANT Do not wind the cord around the hot soleplate. Never store your iron placed down on the soleplate.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

Remove the plug from the wall socket and let the iron cool down before maintenance and cleaning.

Cleaning the iron
When the appliance has cooled down, wipe the iron down with a damp cloth or sponge. A non abrasive cleaning agent can be used.

IMPORTANT Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents or objects to clean the soleplate and other parts of the iron.
WARNING : Do not use descaling agents even if advertised for steam irons. They will permanently damage your iron.

Calc clean program (4-6 min)
The Calc Clean System flushes dirt and scale particles out of the steam chamber.
This considerably prolongs the operational life of your iron.
Your iron needs to be cleaned when the CALC CLEAN warning light remains lighted on the LED screen fig 11a.
If the “CALC CLEAN” light starts flashing when you are ironing, you can finish your ironing session. There is no risk for your clothes nor the appliance.

TO START THE CALC CLEAN PROGRAM

1. Unplug the iron (fig 1)
2. Fill in the water tank fig 2 & 3
3.  Plug the iron (fig 4)
4.  Put the iron over a sink or a basin
5.  Press simultaneously the Mode button & the trigger for 20 secondes to start the Calc Clean Program. (fig 11b)
   The iron will start to heat up without producing steam. When arrived at the maximum temperature, the water will start to run down fig 11c. During the process, the fabrics on the LED screen will blink alternatively. Once the process finished, the iron will automatically shut off. Allow the appliance to cool down and then wipe the iron down with a damp cloth or a sponge.

IMPORTANT: this program will last 4 to 6 minutes.

PROBLEMS

iron into a different socket.
The automatic electronic auto off is active.| Move your iron.
None or too little steam is being emitted.| The iron is not ready to use.| Wait until the mode you have selected stops blinking.

NB: on “Nylon” mode, the steam output is low to preserve your clothes.

Not enough water in the water tank.| Fill the water tank.
Anti-Drip is active| Wait for the soleplate to reach the correct temperature.
The trigger is not pressed.| Press the trigger to get steam output.
The steam is blocked on NYLON mode in order to protect your clothes| Select a higher mode if needed
Problem| Cause| Solution

Brown streaks come through the holes in the soleplate and stain the fabric.| Residues in the steam chamber or on the soleplate.| Use the Calc Clean Program then clean your iron.

 | Use of chemical descaling agents, perfumed or scented additives.| Do not add any descaling agents, perfumed, or scented additives to the water in the water tank.

 | Your linen is not rinsed sufficiently or you have ironed a new garment before washing it.| Ensure linen is rinsed thoroughly.
 | Use of starch.| Always spray starch onto the reverse side of the fabric to be ironed and clean your iron soleplate afterwards.
 | Pure distilled /demineralised or softened water is being used.| Only use untreated tap water or mix half tap water with half distilled/demineralised water.

Use the Calc Clean Program and clean your iron.

Iron is leaking.| Overuse of shot of steam trigger.| Allow more time between each shot.
Use of the shot of steam trigger on NYLON, SILK or WOOL modes.| Use only the steam boost on COTTON and LINEN modes.
