STARLINK Gen 3 Router
Product Information
The Gen 3 Router is a WiFi router designed for use with Standard Starlink Gen1 kits. It is compatible with the Standard Starlink Gen1 dish and offers internet connectivity for your devices.
The Gen 3 Router Kit includes the following components:
- Gen 3 Router
- Starlink Plug
- RJ45 Cover
- Gen 3 Router Ethernet Cable (1.5m / 4.92ft)
- Power Cable (1.5m / 4.92ft)
- Power Supply
The Gen 3 Router features additional RJ45 ports for connecting third-party hardware.
Product Usage Instructions
- Ensure that your Starlink dish is set up and connected to the internet before setting up the Gen 3 Router.
- Unbox the Gen 3 Router Kit.
- Unplug the Gen 1 router from the Gen 1 Power Supply and set it aside.
- Plug the Gen 3 Router into a power outlet using the provided power cable and power supply.
- Connect the provided Gen 3 Router Ethernet Cable to port 1 on the Gen 3 Router and the white port on the Gen 1 Power Supply.
- On your device, navigate to the WiFi settings and connect to the STARLINK network.
- You are now connected! The light on the Gen 3 Router should be solid white. Use the Starlink App to customize additional settings, check your connection, and more.
Using the Extra RJ45 Ports
- Remove the RJ45 cover from the Gen 3 Router.
- Plug in your own Ethernet cable to port 1 or 2 on the Gen 3 Router.
- Connect the other end of your cable to your third-party hardware.
Troubleshooting: Can’t Get Online?
- Open the Starlink App to check for any alerts, outages, or obstructions.
- Check the WiFi router light for the following indications:
- Flashing White Light: Trying to connect. If the router cannot get a connection to the internet in 20 minutes, the light will turn red.
- Solid White Light: Connected to the internet. Will turn off after 1 hour.
- No Light : No power to router.
- Red Light: Not connected to the internet. Router is in bypass mode. Will turn off after 1 hour. Factory reset required to exit bypass mode.
- Violet Light: Factory reset required to exit bypass mode.
- Ensure that all hardware and cables are securely plugged in without any damage.
- Power cycle the router by unplugging it from power and then plugging it back in.
- Factory reset the router by pushing the reset button with a paper clip.
- If none of these steps work, contact Starlink Customer Support through the app or the Support section of starlink.com.
Setup
- Start by making sure your Starlink dish is set up and connected to the internet prior to setting up your Gen 3 Router.
- Unbox your Gen 3 Router Kit
- Unplug your Gen 1 router from the Gen 1 Power Supply, set aside.
- Plug the Gen 3 Router into a power outlet using the power cable and power supply.
- Plug the provided Gen 3 router ethernet cable into port 1 on the Gen 3 Router and the white port on the Gen 1 Power Supply
- On your device, find and connect to the STARLINK network in your WiFi settings.
- You are now connected! The light on the Gen 3 Router should be solid white, and you can use the Starlink App to customize additional settings, check your connection, and more.
Using the Extra RJ45 Ports

Can’t Get Online?
- Open the Starlink App to check for any alerts, outages, or obstructions.

- Make sure everything is securely plugged in and there is no damage to hardware or cables.
- Power cycle the router by unplugging from power and then plugging back in.
